I hesitated before writing this post but after reading the others I decided to chime in..I stopped into the store on Sat. while on lunch break to just "look". I was met with a very friendly overly helpful lady named Rosie. She was sweet and funny. SUPER helpful lol. She told me she would give me her card but when I came back Sunday (today)she would be off but to come anyway and see Taylor. When I came back with my fiance and wallet in hand Taylor took over the sale. At first the conversation waa flowing then I realized I had barely touched any of the rings I looked at. Why? Because TAYLOR WAS WEARING THEM! How the hell could I envision myself wearing this ring for the rest of my life if SHE'S WEARING THE FREAKING RING? She was super guarded on letting us try on the rings and even hold them more than a couple of seconds. We had gone to Kays 2 weeks prior and actually put money on a ring to hold. The reps there were amazing. We sat for like 2 hrs and looked at rings, touched them, tried them on, and at one point the rep gave us space to discuss the potential purchase. The only reason we didn't buy then waa because we wanted to shop around. So we found our selves in Zales with one of the worst sales person's I've ever met. Then she showed me a ring in the case that I kinda liked and told me there was one on the website JUST like it at a better price....umm ma'am it was 3k MORE than the one in the store AND it was a completely DIFFERENT ring. When I called her on it she got defensive and told me I didn't know what I was looking at!! I had to point out the differences (again with the ring being held tightly on HER hand). She just shrugged. At one point she asked me if I even knew how to shop for diamonds. Then she asked did i really want a dimond at anything below 4k because my friends could tell what we paid....I had enough insults and politely asked for a card then told her we would be in touch.
I tossed her card as soon as we got out of the store. I understand people steal things but we had been in the store the day before and had put money on another ring 2 weeks before at their big sister store, and we were looking to BUY today NO FINANCING. Smh they lost a sale because their salesperson made us feel disgusting. Thanks but no thanks. I work in Sales too and if I treated someone like she did us I would lose my job. She was not a good sales person. The sad part is that her behavior reflects badly on the entire store. I would also like to add two things 1) we asked her to give us a minute to talk and she stood there and WE had to move in order to get space to discuss. As if she wanted to hear what we had to say about the sale. It was super uncomfortable and just over all rude. She also downed Kay's when we told her we had put money on another ring. She says, "Ugh, why'd you go there? I mean they are under the same umbrella as our store but you should have bought here. What ring did you get over there?" I show her a photo and she proceeds to show me a similar ring and I ask her about pricing vs the one at Kay which was a bigger diamond and better clarity, and came with band and warranty and she says, "Do you even know how to shop for diamonds? Our diamond is going to be better is it even collection?" And thats when I called to the other store to get the specs on the ring. Once I told her yes it was collection just like the one she showed me and over all better is when she tried to upsale me and show me the one on the computer that was "just like it". It wasn't and it was 3k MORE than the one we wanted....she was the worst. She was assuming we would buy from her because she bad mouthed and belittled the other store. I mean if you watched videos of the interaction you'd think the convo went well. But inside we were CRINGING! We left hurt and upset and without purchasing a ring. She definitely talked herself...
Read moreDo NOT go to zales; there are much more professional options available. I purchased a diamond promise ring from them for my girlfriend back at the end of May. As any considerate guy would, I wanted to make sure that I found the right one in plenty of time before our anniversary. I liked the design but that ring sat in its box until the end of June when I gave it to her.
She loved it so much until AFTER WEARING IT FOR ONE MONTH one of the diamonds fell out. When we came back after my birthday trip to Seattle we drove to the store to have it fixed. The sales rep told me that since it was a few weeks outside of the return policy i would be charged...
It's not about the 30 something dollars it costs to have it fixed but it speaks volumes about the poor quality of craftsmanship Zales takes in their products. I understand that I could have paid extra for the insurance but I figured the ring would at least last until I bought the engagement ring... NOT AFTER ONLY ONE MONTH OF USE. And honestly the return policy is bogus because who actually buys their anniversary jewelry and gifts it the next day. Poor quality is not an excuse to make a customer pay extra to buy their insurance.
Needless to say, we will be exploring other options for the engagement ring and wedding band. Could you imagine if your engagement ring was already having diamonds fall out before the wedding??? Consider less thrifty options.
UPDATE: NOT EVEN A YEAR LATER... AFTER THEY "FIXED" THE RING TWO MORE DIAMONDS FELL OUT. This garbage now looks so pathetic that my girlfriend can't even wear it out in public without having to...
Read moreI cannot even believe the service I received at your Concord Mall store. I go in to have my jewelry checked every August and February. My dealings with this store have always been good, but today was the best. Darlene goes above and beyond. She checked my 3 pieces of jewelry , cleaned them, got rid of all the old checkup papers that I didn’t need, discussed all the options that are available to me from Zales, and made some idle conversation with me that was so enjoyable. The store is immaculate and she and the other salesman, Ilya get along so well. He is the one that urged me to do this survey for Darlene. He was also very nice and talked to me about the events for resetting. I told him that I would look through my jewelry to see if I wanted to change anything. Darlene even set up an appointment for my next jewelry check in August. It is so rare that a customer is treated like this these days. I really do appreciate it and will remember that when anyone needs a recommendation for a...
