Whoever came up with this concept needs an award. What a cute soft serve shop! I have always loved this store front but every business previous never lasted. I think Soft Landing is here to stay.
I will have to say, parking isn't the best here. We did park on the side street but it was also mid afternoon and slow. Finding a spot was easy. I'm sure when summer really hits, a bike ride down to this joint would make more sense. And be more fun!
Before walking in, I imagined this place being very cute. Boy was I right! I love how simple and delicate this joint is! I adore the pastels and simplicity of the venue. The menu board is simple to read and all the toppings were beautifully placed for you to see if the front.
The sweet gal working gave us a minute to look over the menu. They don't have a lot of options which could be a good or bad thing. I personally think it's great that there's only a few options. It gives more opportunities for different flavors and special flavors. Gives you a differnt reason every month to go! You can't go wrong with the classics and a sorbet option. The strawberry and chocolate looked good but I went with the sorbet
I grabbed a mini Huckleberry sorbet and my daughter got the regular sweet cream with brownies. The mini portion was so cute! It was such a fun color and was perfectly swirled into my cup. It was almost too pretty to eat. I enjoyed it very much! It was the right amount of sweetness and not overwhelming. It was nice to have a good non dairy option for me. The sweet cream was buttery and creamy. The brownies were a fun add on to it! I had a few bites and it was worth it!
I love that they have benches outside! The seating inside was very cute but it was kinda humid inside the venue so we opted to get some fresh air. I hope that in the summer they'll consider putting some umbrellas up. It'll be nice to have some shade while eating your sweet treat.
I'm happy my daughter and I got to stop by any grab some soft serve. I look forward to going back and trying their...
Read moreBest ice cream in the valley! I feel like Boise is chock full of traditional hard-pack ice cream shops but soft serve and frozen yogurt is hard to find. No longer! Soft Landing just opened on State Street across from DK donuts and it’s the best ice cream I’ve ever tasted (and I’ve tasted a lot.) Today was opening day and I found my way in. They have five flavors: four dairy and one vegan. The dairy were sweet cream, chocolate, cereal milk, and blueberry, along with a sorbet blood orange. Each one was bursting with flavors with a velvety, creamy texture. It wasn’t icy at all or super rich which allowed the flavor to shine. They have a bunch of fun toppings including potato chips and other non traditional things. Portions were reasonable for the price and they can do a cone or cup. Along with ice cream they have a full espresso bar with great coffee so you can get an affogato or a latte along with your cereal milk ice cream. That’s breakfast, right? Service was fast and incredibly friendly. The space is bright and clean and would be perfect for a hang with friends or family. The parking lot is teeny tiny but you can park along State or 14th. Definitely give this place a try....
Read moreI used to come to Soft Landings with my kids before school started. We’re a handful, but the young women working there were always gracious and gave all my kids samples if they were having trouble making a decision about the flavor they wanted. My two star review is for the awful management. I know it’s a small business and things can get stressful, but whenever the two owners were helping the customers, they were downright mean to their employees. If we stopped in for soft serve on a busy day past 7pm, the lady in charge would turn and order her employees around with a hissing tone and hateful glares and then turn around to talk to me with a kind smile. I feel really bad for the young girls who worked there. I haven’t gone back in a few months because I didn’t want to support that kind...
