It's a very Cabaret Boutique Style of a theater. They have tables that seat 4 (really 3 is comfortable) it is a very small space that when at full capacity it seats about 75 to 100 at max. The stage is half the size of industry set standards, however, it makes it feel very quaint and cozy. There's really not a bad seat in the house, but, if you have physical or physiological issues, DO NOT SIT in the middle; very difficult to navigate between your seating and you will bump into every patron if you need to dart to the restroom or hit the bar; your best bet is seating at either sides of the house. The seats were padded, and comfortable, but because the seating was all at one level, it was hard to see over people's heads.
Already having paid for tickets, they have the child performers stand at the door with buckets extended, asking for donations, which is uncomfortable. This was in addition to the slices of cake they sold for $5 each and their refreshment stand.
I understand that they're a small company, and I applaud them for their efforts, but if you're getting tickets, make sure it's at the front...
Read moreThe Coronado Playhouse was such an incredible experience. Every member of the staff were helpful and friendly. The set up of the playhouse provided an intimate and comfortable experience for the audience. The production I saw of "All Bark! No Bite!" written by Kara Krantz was a fun, witty, and unique production that kept the audience immersed and laughing. The performers were fun to watch and filled with enthusiasm, especially the actress who played "Bella" who easily represented her character's personality. The Coronado Playhouse is a definite must visit for anyone in the San Diego area and nearby, and seeing the production of "All Bark! No Bite!" is a definite must see...
