**June 2025. Just stayed at the 1906 Lodge for our second time and it was such a great experience! A quiet location tucked away where you can relax and unwind from a day's activity but still just a quick walk to Orange Ave. and Hotel Del. The staff is wonderful and a HUGE shout out to Savanna for making the most scrumptious breakfasts, we literally couldn't wait to see what she served each morning. Free bikes rentals, clean and spacious rooms, nice showers, amazing location, and I would give it 10 stars if I could! Previous stay/review... I was skeptical of the almost 100% 5 Stars reviews for 1906 Lodge but after just staying there for the past 3 days, they might need to add a 6th Star! Fabulous, quiet location just off Orange and two easy walking blocks away from Hotel Del and some amazing shops and restaurants. The property grounds are cozy and tranquil and our room were very clean and spacious. The best part though was the super friendly staff and their delicious food! Each breakfast is a tasty surprise that is brought to your table and is simply delicious and then they have a complimentary Happy Hour with an assortment of food and beverages. Can't say enough about this hotel and our stay there, was absolutely perfect and shout-out to Pia who was so nice!! **Their underground parking requires a perilous drive down and up to enter/exit, not for the faint of heart or someone with a large vehicle, however, there is plenty of free street parking around the hotel.

Best place I’ve ever stayed! Went here on my honeymoon and everything was perfect! We were just a 5 min walk from everything, including beach! Pia served a different breakfast every morning, and every single time the next day topped the last! The coffee that they offered all day was also phenomenal, as I went back for multiple refills. Staff was very personable and delighting at all times, and we felt like we actually got to know them! My only critique would be that the walls are a bit thin - let’s just say everyone knows it was our honeymoon! Also, if you enjoy streaming services, they did not have a smart tv in the room, which was alright with us! Also, they have complementary resources for guests: bikes, cocktail hour, umbrellas, beach chairs, books, games, and a sitting garden! Will be coming back!

We have stayed here twice and have enjoyed our experience both times. You can’t beat the location.; it is close to almost everything (including the beach) on the island. And if you don’t want to walk just check out one of their bikes as the island has bike lanes. We really liked that they offer beach chairs, towels and umbrellas. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and we loved that they offered happy hour with some small bites. What really made our stay was the staff. They were very friendly and accommodating. One thing though, they have limited garage parking with on street parking challenging. Get there early in order to get either street or garage parking and just leave your car. Walk or bike once you get checked in.

Horrible Management and False Advertising||We booked a room for 8 nights. We were visiting my parents who have a place on the island, but we decided to get a hotel for a little more room since I am pregnant and have a 1 year old and 3 year old. (All that to say we were never really at the hotel. We left around 9am every morning and came back around 8pm every night for bed.) When we booked the room, we asked if the hotel was kid friendly since we have two very young children. They assured us they were. It a very small hotel with all rooms facing a very small courtyard with a very large in ground fountain. The lady that checked us in was great and showed the kids the fountain, letting them touch the water. We would stay for breakfast in the morning that would be brought to the room and then leave around 9am. On our 5th day I had a doctor’s appointment, so my husband and their grandparents were watching the kids. Apparently my 3 year old ran up to the large fountain in the courtyard, climbed up on the 10” high ledge, my husband ran and grabbed him, he started crying so my husband and the grandparents immediately left the hotel so he wouldn’t disturb the guests. At that time, I got repeated calls while I was in a doctor’s appointment so I finally answered and the “hotel manager” immediately starts telling me that my child’s behavior was completely unacceptable and this hotel is not geared for children, it is for romantic getaways, and the hotel is changing their policy on allowing children. Confused I asked what happened, since I was in an appointment, and she said “that fact that you don’t know is why you are a problem”. I said I am not with my kids I am at an appointment and that I needed to go. After talking to some people, apparently when my son started crying there was a hotel guest that complained to the manager and was upset that they allow children at the hotel. Instead of having any managerial skills or emotional intelligence and going outside to talk to my husband in person like a human being, she decided to call me several times and then berate me on the phone. ||After my appointment I went to talk to her in person, and I told her this was a single incident that was handled immediately and really did not warrant the inappropriate phone calls. She then started throwing out additional accusations of “other incidents” that happened and kept saying that the hotel was basically not geared for children. I asked what the other incidents were, and she said that one of the mornings I left my children unattended in the courtyard. Every morning my mother would come over and she would watch them for maybe 5 min so I could run inside and get the diaper bag packed. The manager is so inept that she didn’t realize that the elderly person waiting with my children wasn’t another guest it was their grandmother. Realizing that she screwed up again, she tried to double down and said, “ your son also peed on the floor”. That is when I started to get uncomfortable. I asked how she could possibly know that. My son at 8pm at night a few nights prior was trying to make it to the toilet and he didn’t make it in time and had an accident on the tile floor IN THE HOTEL ROOM (which we cleaned up immediately). I asked her how she could possibly know that. She started to panic and then started back pedaling and saying she never said anything she had previously said and that she had a recording of our conversations so she could prove it. I said great I want to hear that recording. She said no. ||At this point I was so uncomfortable that I said clearly you don’t want us here because we have kids and I am now uncomfortable staying here. I am happy to check and go to the Hotel Del. She said she would need to access the damage in or room, which again another bizarre comment, thankfully I had taken photos of the room when we checked in. I asked her to access the room so we could check out and she said “no I do that on my own time not yours” and if we checked out early she was still going to charge us for the full 8 nights because I didn’t give her 7 days notice. This whole thing was insane. I have emailed her boss and formally asked for a copy the recordings of these conversations she said she had. Her boss wrote back and said she wouldn’t give me other guests information, which I never asked for, and that she is looking into it, that was 5 days ago. ||||As for the room… We booked a 2 Queen bed room. The room had 1 queen and 1 full, no bathrobes, the floorboards around the entire room were all dirty and damaged, there was a dirty stained rug, the sink wasn’t cleaned, the toilet paper holder was falling off the wall, very thin walls, and there was patched miscolored paint. The free breakfast was basically powered eggs and frozen hash browns, nothing too exciting. The people cleaning the room would never take the dishes and glasses so they would sit in the room for a few days so we started putting them outside. I would liken the room to a very nice motel. I had prescription for anti nausea that went missing one of the days, maybe it got thrown out when they cleaned. Except for the fact that we needed 2 queen beds and the room was falsely advertised the rest of the issues above didn’t bother us because we were never there. ||||I never write reviews, but I am generally concerned about our experience and the issues listed above. This hotel manager was so abhorrent and seemingly went out of her way to ruin the first vacation that we have taken in 3 years. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. And if you stay there, take photos of the room when...

READ BEFORE BOOKING!! Booking has been so unacceptably inconsistent multiple times for us now. The first time we booked for multiple days several months in advance, received the confirmation and spoke with a service member - upon arrival, we were told there was “some confusion” and had to wait before they accommodated us in a comparable room, but not the room we originally planned for. As a one off, we didn’t think much of it and still enjoyed our stay. This time, my partner had booked online in April for two nights for this week to celebrate my birthday. We ended up not being able to stay both nights, so on April 25th my partner called a service member who assured us that was no issue, confirmed her change of our reservation for just the night of the 14th, and bid us a good day. Fast forward to last night, we get a call from the lodge asking our ETA. Confused, we shared the experience from last month and the staff said they would have to call their manager and call us back. They called us back and said unfortunately they would have NO lodging for us to stay the night of the 14th… stating that it was a mistake made by an “employee no longer with us” and that despite our reservation originally being for the 13th-15th, the alleged ex-employee had removed the wrong night and they would refund us for our full stay. Fair enough, thanks for the refund and apology - but there was no offer of compensation, no documentation on their end of any of the above occurring, even with our paper trail provided, and now we have NO place to stay with LESS than 24 hours notice….. take this information into consideration when choosing this stay! The rooms and the location are both absolutely stunning, the service on-site is phenomenal - don’t get me wrong, but having 2/2 booking issues and unreliability is egregious....
