The Crown Room brunch at Hotel Del is one of those little joys in life everyone should experience ar LEAST once!
I first experienced their brunch about 5 years ago. I took my then girlfriend and her mother for brunch. It was such an AMAZING experience that we have to go at least once a year!
They have a station for everything! I didn't get a picture if every station because I didnt want to be "that" guy, but I got a few pictures to share with you guys.
It's one of the best customer service experiences you'll encounter. Upon checking in for your time, there is no wait period (Make a reservation!). You are checked in and then you are taken to your table by one of the many ready waiters/waitresses that greet you as you enter.
Once at your table, you are now ready to explore the culinary wonders that await you! My favorite section is the breakfast station. They have some brown sugar waffles that will BLOW YOUR MIND! fresh strawberries, whipped butter, berries, homemade whipped cream, and warm syrup are all there to accessorize your waffle.
From there you can make your way to the omelette station or go to the center and peruse the carving station. They have lamb, ham, and roast beef with some au jus and horseradish sauce.
My wife opted for the ramen station and seafood section right off the bat. With every round I did, I took a trip to the cheese section.
Theres also a salad area and a poke station. I wasnt able to visit them all, but I feel like I got about 80% so i was okay with that, lol.
They also have live music playing which was really nice. We asked to be sat near a window and had a nice view. You can also ask for the patio and will eat with a great view of the courtyard.
There's no way you can go wrong with brunch here. Holidays are a little pricier than just your average Sunday brunch, but still worth it. You're looking around $80-90 a plate for adults on a normal brunch and somewhere in the area if $140 for a holiday brunch.
Afterwards, feel free to walk around the hotel and enjoy the beach or just take a walk!
Parking is $20 for valet if you eat at the hotel. They dont have any parking unless you park somewhere nearby and just walk there, but that juice isnt worth the squeeze; just do the valet and enjoy the...
Read moreWe go here often with my family but last Sunday Jan 14th I have noticed that a lot have changed and the food were not that good anymore. We also got a very bad service. It takes forever to get your drinks refilled. I had to ask the temporary server/busser for drinks many times (we didn't even drink alcohol, we just had soda & tea).
To top it off! When you get your bill here you have to give "gratuity", for WHAT? For a horrible service! I don't mind giving tip but this one I would give him a penny! We gave the temp serve a cash tip (too bad we didn't have much cash) to make sure our server doesn't get it, coz she was mostly the one helping but she can only do so much coz at times she has to look or ask our "assigned server" for stuff she doesn't have access (that's why we assume she's a temporary hired server for the event, her uniform is different too).
The meat are not that tasty anymore, I don't know something must have changed even some of the desserts, the food display are not that pretty & appetizing anymore to sum this review up....the food were not that good no more. They took the paella off the menu, (they should have replaced that with savory rice, fried rice or even a steamed rice!) no rice menu at all and yet the mashed potato are also not that good too soft, and the gravy, sauce must have changed too! It's not worth coming back here anymore.
You will pay $105 + 20% gratuity +...
Read moreWe went for Sunday brunch yesterday. It is family friendly and so many items to choose from! Sushi, melt-in-your-mouth brisket, snappy green beans with almonds, poke, ceviche, sweet crepes with berries and whipped cream, unique waffles (I won't spoil it, you'll have to try them) a large assortment of decadent desserts, a variety of omelets, eggs Benedict made differently (salmon was my favorite), crispy salads, and for the kids...and the kid in us...a candy station! Yay! And bottomless drinks. And the all wood room is gorgeous! The hostesses were very nice and greeted us with a friendly, genuine smile. To start, our very friendly waiter was Bill and he made us feel special by being attentive to us. Also, most of the station servers were friendly and served with a smile. For instance there were two stars that stood out: The Latin man at the tamale bar was very hapoy and friendly and attentive to whatever we wanted. And the Latin woman at the eggs Benedict station was also a very friendly, happy woman. She was telling me about the Easter brunch and how nice it is. It's nice to have servers who are genuinely happy, friendly, and enjoy their job, they make the dining experience atmosphere very pleasant for us patrons. It is pricey, however, for a special occasion I would highly...
