It’s a fantastic place to go to watch the sunset during the month of October. Yes, the prices are high, so I recommend they increase the portion sizes. How can you lose money on French Fries. Flat bread was very good and the burgers were very tasty, $30 bucks! My wife had a steak that cost $66 bucks. Yep that’s right and She deserved it! (Huumm, I could have bought 13 Costco rotisserie chickens for that price I was thinking). Ok, the view and atmosphere is breathtaking. The sound of the waves at dusk is wonderful. This place is big. What I like about it is that you don’t need reservations. Many open areas to choose from. Ok, did we enjoy it? Absolutely. Would I go again? Absolutely. For four people, expect to spend $300 including tips. Beer was $13 and I had two. My two kids (adults) loved it because, they didn’t have to pay. Good family time though. Lots of smiles so it was a great evening. Will go again, yes (next year)! 😊🍷

AI version: 😊🤓😇 If you’re looking for a breathtaking spot to watch the sunset, especially in October, this place delivers. The atmosphere is serene, with the sound of waves adding to the experience. It’s spacious, with plenty of open areas to choose from, and you don’t need reservations, which is a nice bonus.

Now, about the food—it’s good, but pricey. The flatbread was delicious, and the burgers were flavorful, though $30 each felt steep. My wife ordered a steak for $66, which she absolutely deserved (though I couldn’t help thinking I could have bought 13 Costco rotisserie chickens for the same price!). The French fries? Tasty but small portions. I’d recommend increasing the serving sizes—after all, how does anyone lose money on fries?

Drinks followed the same pattern: $13 for a beer. I had two. For four adults, including tips, the total came to $300. My kids (adults) loved the experience—probably because they didn’t have to pay!

Would I return? Absolutely. The stunning view, great food, and family memories make it worth it. Just be prepared to splurge. We’ll definitely be...

Just as the name suggests, this restaurant is located on the deck where you enjoy the sun. We were lucky to try it out on a super sunny day as the previous days had been dull. The food was really really good! We tried the beach shack, ENO and this place and Sun Deck was definitely our favorite. If you have dining credit through the Del, you can use it but you won't be able to stay within the budget so be prepared to pay extra.

We had a long travel day ahead of us, so we didn't try any of the cocktails. We got the papaya salad and the fish sandwich. Both were delicious with the papaya salad maybe just edging the fish sandwich to my top spot. They split the salad for me and the bf and we both had more than enough to eat. I've never had papaya salad before so this was a fresh, pleasant medley of sweet, tart, spicy and smooth with the papaya, cilantro and lemon, snap peas, radish, peanuts and the jalapenos. It was delicious and I couldn't finish mine, so bf finished it for me. We honestly would've even drunk the sauce left behind, but there were people around and we had etiquette to preserve.

The fish sandwich was bigger than I expected and also delicious! I think it was a mahi mahi patty, a little bland by itself, but the added sauce and veggies made up for it, along with the tasty bread. The french fries accompanying it were delicious. We split this sandwich up and it was more than enough for the both of us.

The ambience is just so chill! Loved sitting in the sun, looking into the Pacific and people watching. Perfect end to a wonderful trip.

FYI: they also serve food...

Went to the sun deck at hotel Del. For a drink for our anniversary ordered two $22 drinks. They returned in two small plastic cups. My wife’s signature drink was OK but too sweet. My $22 margarita was sour as a lemon and two took two sips and could not drink it Because it was too sour. not only that because the cup was small, it had a little ice and was warm! I decided to get a beer instead they returned and came back with a beer in another small reusable plastic cup 12 ounce. I took two sips and noticed the rim of the cup was coated in lipstick. I just about puked because I put my mouth on the lipstick. I told the waitress and she said oh sometimes they don’t get washed properly… Totally inexcusable! Not even an apology from the waitress. I expect way more from the hotel Del. I told her the bartender, or you should’ve noticed the lipstick on the rim of the glass and not served it to me. I’ve been coming there for quite a bit and it’s gone downhill over the last 10 years plastic cups for a $22 drink. I will not go there again for just the view as I have done in the past!!!! I was totally disgusted and I can imagine how the rest of the stuff is if they don’t wash their glasses properly and use plastic cups serving $22 drinks! you should expect more...

The Sun Deck at Hotel del Coronado was a beautiful space and has an every more beautiful view of the sunset! We went here for an evening cocktail and small bites. It was great, but the seating is all open and up for grabs. We showed up with a reservation and just wandered around until we noticed folks leaving and took their table. (Only photos I took were of the scenery and not our food or drinks). It was nice to sit by the fireplace in our table. But you do leave smelling like smoke. Staffing seemed to be okay. Just seemed like after we ordered we weren’t really checked on. We waited awhile to checkout. And note: if you take one of the fireplace tables, they require a 2hr max time limit, and a $100 minimum for orders. This was easy ro meet with the order of a few cocktails and a few appetizers. We liked the bbq chicken nacho fries! It was so good! The sauces were yummy and the fresh ingredients were a nice compliment to the rich! We ordered the hummus Greek platter and it was a nice portion and the pickled veggies were good!
