Clifton Club Bar & Lounge — Attraction in Dallas

My wife and I like to go out on date nights once or twice a month and usually look for comfortable cocktail lounges where we can relax and unwind after a long week. One of our go-to spots is Perry’s Steakhouse & Grill in the Park District, where we often sit in their Bar 79 Lounge. This time, we decided to try something new for a change of scenery and booked a reservation at Clifton’s Club through Resy about a week in advance for 8 p.m. on Saturday.

When we arrived, we mentioned our reservation and assumed we’d be seated at a table. Instead, we were placed in the small lounge area at a tiny round table. The seating was very firm and not the most comfortable, more springy than supportive. I asked if we could move to a table, but was told those were reserved for larger parties. I understood, but during our hour and a half there, we noticed several tables being seated with couples. Since we had requested a table when making the reservation, it would’ve been nice to at least be asked if we wanted to move when one opened up.

The lounge itself has a nice, dark, and relaxed vibe, but it’s small, which makes it louder than expected for a place marketed as a cocktail lounge. On the positive side, the service was great, and both the drinks and appetizers were excellent. Valet service was also friendly and prompt.

Overall, Clifton’s Club might be a good stop for a quick drink or two before heading out for a night on the town. But if you’re looking for a quiet, upscale spot to sit and enjoy a few hours with your spouse or friends, this probably isn’t the place. It’s wonderful to see what they’ve done with the space, which serves as an example for other venues that its possible to breathe new life into a space without timely or costly structural changes. A popular destination for locals, and some of the top industry professionals in the area, who enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, and assorted menu. From valet to bartenders, you’re welcomed with a smile and professional service. The eclectic ambiance of Clifton Club Bar & Lounge offers several seating areas to enjoy alone. or with friends, including a patio area. A great time was had! My girlfriends and I came here on a Friday evening and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The Happy Hour is top tier. Great food options and the margs are delicious! I'm honestly not sure how many rounds we had. Lol The service was also nice. A couple things we requested didn't make it to the table but made it to the bill. Mistake happen, so I didn't make a fuss because overall we really enjoyed ourselves. We all had regular and strawberry margs, a friend tried the shaken daiquiri and said it was great, as well as the espresso martini (with mezcal instead of vodka). We also ordered most of the food, including whipped ricotta, French fries (well seasoned), mini wagyu burgers, mini meatballs, fried shrimp and Brussel sprouts. Everything was delicious!
