First of all, after receiving two text messages regarding confirmation for my appointment as well as a phone call the morning of, the staff never once mentioned how they had changed locations— probably an important piece of information to provide the client! This isn’t even displayed on their website. I only found out of their changed location when I arrived at the old location and a hand-written sign provided the new address. Even when walking in, my mother mentioned how Waze took us to the old location and the old lady said that she hears that a lot… I guess after all of this commotion revolving around their changed location the thought never occurred to her to do something about it? Then after filling out the forms, she starts advertising their earrings— minimum price of $75— and I told her that we had brought our own earrings that we had previously purchased from them and she immediately dismantles this saying that they only use sterilized earrings and that if we had brought our own earrings earlier then they could have sterilized it. Basically, she said that we would have to buy new earrings from them because their sterilization period was over and we couldn’t use our own earrings. Also keep in mind our appointment was at 10:15 and they open at 10:00, meaning I missed their “sterilization period” by a mere 15 minutes. She then says that this information was on the website, which is true, but once checking the website myself I found all of this way at the bottom of the page and the furthest away from the button on the top where you book the appointment. Also, it doesn’t mention anything about their sterilization period, only that customers can’t bring in their own earrings. This was my third time going to La Lobe and both times prior they mentioned that customers may use earrings they had bought from them so I guess that information is now redundant. Overall, it felt like their entire business is made to trap the customer in a helpless situation. If we had decided to just go along with them we would’ve spent well over the $50 they say the piercing is. Obviously this was just my experience, but after reading several other disappointing reviews, it’s in other people’s best interest to keep all of this in mind before considering this place. There’s plenty of other piercing salons that will get the job done and with much better customer service. I can’t express how frustrating this entire...
Read moreMy 14 month old daughter was denied service because the color of my skin was “threatening” to one of the employees. I honestly hope no mother has to ever feel that the safety of their child or themselves is in jeopardy because of the color of their skin.
I booked an appointment to get my daughter’s ears pierced on (Monday) yesterday online, I accidentally booked for 12 and 12:15. Because they were closed on a Monday, I wasn’t able to call and fix it. Today, I called while on the way there, to let them know that it’s only one appointment and that we’re on the way. The lady on the phone said it was fine. When I got there (12:15), they let the 12:30 appointment start because they got there early, so we had to wait, which was fine, we said nothing. When the employee got to us, she told me I had to pay for TWO appointments all while being extremely mean in front of other customers. She was embarrassing me in front of my daughter and mother in law. Because I didn’t want to create a scene, I said that was fine. Then my mother in law suggested, I get my ears pierced as well, so the money wouldn’t just go to waste. As I was filling out the paperwork, I told my mother in law that I felt the lady was being rude and unprofessional. She over heard my conversation with my mom, took my paperwork with all my personal information, went inside and told the manager, that we threatened her. The manager then came out and told us they were choosing to deny us service because she felt threatened. I couldn’t even speak because I was so shocked.
For those that know me personally, know that I am the nicest person, so to hear those words really took me back. Luckily my mom came to my defense. My mom asked if the manager would hear our side of the story and what happened, but he refused. He looked straight into my 14 month daughter’s eyes and said they were refusing to pierce her ears. We asked if we could get the forms we filled out with our personal information and
In a time where our country is at a divide, how can one be so cruel? I’m lucky that my daughter was young enough not to remember this traumatic experience. I’m just warning all moms, DO NOT take your kids to this place. I have never been treated so...
Read moreThey got the job done but were rude. I confirmed my appointment two days prior and didn’t expect another confirmation on the day of. They texted me at 9am and told me they would cancel my appointment if I didn’t respond by 1030am for my appointment at 415pm. I have a two month old and am not near my phone all of the time so I ended up having to call and leave a voicemail and wait for them to call me back because I didn’t see the message till 1050am and they had already left me a voicemail telling me they are cancelling my appointment. I had already confirmed two days prior and didn’t expect to have to confirm on the day of within an hour and a half without being told ahead of time to expect a second confirmation. They weren’t polite on the phone and were adamant about us showing up by 410 to sign the waiver before our appointment because they take back to back appointments. We showed up at 408 and we were greeted by a lady standing in front of the door, arms crossed and all said we’re “that’s the form you need to fill out “ she then stood there still crossed and waited. When I handed her the form she Actually checked her watch to make sure I completely it before my appointment time and walked away not saying anything. She allowed us in and had us use the germ x which we had no issues with and let us pick out the earrings for our little girl. She asked us if we had a bottle to soothe her during the appointment as if we were just expected to bring one and seemed surprised we didn’t, we breast feed. They were very curt and insensitive during the whole process. We were polite and our baby was quite the whole time and very good during the whole appointment but they treat you like they don’t even want you there. The employees seemed unhappy and bothered by having to speak. I think having back to back appointments and rushing people takes a toll of the employees and the customer service. I won’t go back and I won’t recommend. I will definitely go somewhere else next time because it was not enjoyable and very uncomfortable. If it wasn’t a 50 minute drive to get there I wouldn’t have even stayed for the...
