2.5 stars. I booked an all over color from my lighter brown hair to dark brown, nearly black. I will say, the customer service was lovely. The girl who did my hair was super sweet, passionate, and made me very comfortable during my service, which is why it makes this review difficult to write. However, I noticed after leaving that the hair was VERY patchy and still a lot lighter on the bottom layers of my hair/towards the back. I booked an appointment to fix the issue exactly one week from the first service, but I had to reschedule to 2 days later due to scheduling conflicts and lack of appointment availability. When I showed up to the new appointment, I was informed that I would have to pay to fix the issue because they have a 7 day policy on fixing a hair issue caused by the stylist for free. I was unaware of this, and while I know it is fully my responsibility to understand all policies involved in any of my purchases, it is difficult to do that when its not mentioned in the app when you book, in the Ulta terms & conditions, or explicitly said when I went in person to reschedule the appointment to fix my hair. I left because I was not going to pay for something that should've been done correctly in the first place. I did not want to argue with any manager, so I did not bother asking if there was anything we can do, nor did the stylist suggest any other options and so I left with pretty ugly and patchy hair. Oh, and I was told my hair was probably unevenly colored because I had previously bleached my hair (3 years ago) which I laughed at because I have literally never had this problem at any other salon in the last 3 years that I've been getting all over color. Ultimately, I just went to a beauty school down the street and they did a much better job and got my hair to an even color. Again, I completely get that there is a 7 day policy and I did not go in to fix it within that time frame. But to suggest NO other option besides paying in full for her mistake...
Read moreIF YOU ARE A PERSON OF COLOR DON'T COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE FOLLOWED AROUND! I came here with the intention to shop with my family & the black officer lady started following us around the moment we stepped foot in the when she was OUTSIDE before we went in. The Manager Ashley, the male employee, & short female employee with shoulder length hair were no good either the guy kept glancing in our direction & whispering in his mic, the two female workers & officer came towards the area we were browsing and were just hovering over us as if we were stealing! We used the restroom & the officer lady came right after us & told us to get out the restroom because they were closing it was 8:30pm they close @ 9pm! Worse part was that the officer lady stood outside the restrooms waiting for us to get out and she even went inside the restrooms to check them, when there were other customers at the store how come she didn't decide to do her job and keep an eye on them? Oh yea maybe because my family & myself were the only POC! We got tired of being followed around being treated like theives so we left we were all very upset & shame on this ulta for the POOR...
Read morei go here all the time and I wasn’t going to say anything because I let a lot slide. but the prejudice behavior from the staff is out of control. the moment I walk in, they’re hounding me every second about if I need help when I know they’re not concerned if I need help, they’re just racially profiling. Then, employees continuously follow me around the store and while I’m shopping around trying to mind my business, all eyes are on me. I can’t even smell the perfumes in peace. theres an African American woman with short hair who I believe to be some type of manager and she is the worst of them all. she made me feel so uncomfortable and like I couldn’t even shop in peace. I’ve had enough of this type of behavior toward women of color in stores.. I simply like to shop without being watched to the point where I just don’t even get to enjoy the full experience.. something needs to be done about this. this can’t keep happening. I’ve also seen other women of color make similar reviews about their experience at...
