I'll just start with this. I've been staying at a lot of Residence Inns as of late because my work trips are a little longer than they were and like having the studio or one bedroom room situation. I have to say though that this may be the best Residence Inn I've stayed at. There was one that was the best in my mind but this one is better. |I was really happy with my stay from start to finish. When I arrived the front desk person was super nice and helpful. I say this all the time, but first impressions matter. It could turn out to be a not so great stay but knowing that the front desk people were nice and helpful makes a difference since you know they'll do what they can to make the stay a great stay. The hotel is also connected to an AC Marriott but there is only front desk for both. |Parking is an indoor lot connected to the building and plenty of spaces too. I never had a problem with that. It's a little walk to the elevators but not bad. I say this because I had a heavy case I had to lug around which made the walk seem long but if you don't have such a thing to lug around, it's not bad. |The room-If you read my other reviews, I have not had the best of luck with clean Residence Inn rooms. I get that every location is different and operates differently but this was really clean and had no issues with that. Everything worked fine and was perfect for my breakfasts. I say this without it being a negative but the rest of the room; bed, bathroom, etc was just what you would expect from a Residence Inn. It was also quiet which makes a huge difference to me since I am noise sensitive and the slightest thing can wake me up. I purposely ask for a room that is away from most and they came through on this request. There was also housekeeping service everyday which many do not have. Just thought it would be good to know.|I don't know Dallas all too well but location wise, for me, it was fine. It's a little further from busy areas of Dallas and downtown but only about 20-25 minutes. I like to explore and get out and not so into hanging out at malls...Unless it was the 80s and 90s. |So here are the reasons why I think this is the best Residence Inn. And this may be the case at other ones but I just haven't experienced it before. This may sound very strange but someone may read that and say, wow! that's cool or that makes this choice a good one. Because this hotel is attached to the AC, there is a bar and kitchen service. No Residence Inn have this so this is what put this property over the top. I didn't use their food service but nice that it was an option after a long day. Also, it's nice to have access to a bar if you don't feel like going out or if you want a late night drink. I like the idea of having this sort of option and they have it. |The RI has their own free breakfast which I don't partake in because I like to make my own breakfast so I can't speak to the food they offer.BUT I can say, THEY HAVE BREAKFAST POTATOES!!! I have been complaining that none of the properties have breakfast potatoes and never understood why. Finally one that does. Of course I had to take some to my room to go along with my breakfast because I can't say no to potatoes. Another thing I've never seen is that they offer not only hot coffee but iced coffee too. I don't know if this is only in the hot weather months but was really great to have. I take a coffee with me for my ride to the onsite job and was happy I could have an iced coffee since it was hot while I was there. It also was pretty good. |In my opinion this just shows you that it can be the little touches that make a difference in a stay. Breakfast potatoes or iced coffee may be nothing to some but to me it really made a difference because they are two things I like. Now if they could only have had iced coffee available throughout the day until dinner time, that would have been great. |I think it's safe to say that overall my stay was really great and would highly recommend this property especially if you have to stay somewhere for multiple nights. It's also close to a Target in case you forgot toothpaste or need groceries for your room. It's kind of a bonus. Just had to add that too. |If I have to go back to Dallas, I'll for...
Read moreMy mom was visiting me and stayed at this property because I'm suffering from an injury and live across the street. Please note my experience just in case you are considering this property for an extended stay. At first glance this property is clean, fairly new and quiet. If you're here for a quick stay, you shouldn't have any issues.
My mother and I unfortunately did not have a great experience with the front desk staff, cleaning crew and we are having no success at resolving a billing issue. Shannon, the front desk manager has been unresponsive to my emails and I started a dispute with Marriott already.
It's important to note this property is a 2 in 1 property. AC Hotel + Residence Inn use the same staff and front desk. My mom initially stayed at AC hotel where she checked in herself and paid for her own stay, then I made the decision to switch her to Residence Inn to save some money because I was going to pay for the remainder of the stay. This scenario was unexpected for the both of us.
During the stay, my mom noticed a few things that were off but we ignored them because my medical issues were more concerning. First major red flag, her door was left opened by cleaning staff. We figured it was a simple mistake and ignored it. Second, during breakfast, we had to tell staff that the breakfast sandwhichs set out for people were still frozen. Also, we ignored because you know what we have bigger issues to concern ourselves with and who knows if those ladies have had a break or not.
Once she checked out, I realized later in the day that I never got a receipt. Once I requested a receipt, I realized I was charged by the property for 1 night that I redeemed points, was not charged the senior rate for my mom and worst of all they charged her card instead of mine for the entire stay. My mom claims she literally swiped my card for them. She had my ID in hand since I could not walk across the street to check into the property myself.
If we had only spent a few hundred bucks I would've just let it be, but we spent over $1k in a week for the convenience of her being across the street from me. To date, I have left voicemail, email, starting dispute with Bonvoy and received 1 automated response with Shannon Weber, the manager. I have been told this is a billing issue and it will be another 5-7 business days for Marriott to investigate.
While you're at it, investigate the front desk staff who seems to be skimming. Never once have I been charged for a room I redeem with points. My mother will be starting a dispute with the bank if this is not fixed within the...
Read moreA truly terrific stay! It has the big 4: cleanliness, comfort, service, and amenities. We stayed for 5 nights and absolutely loved it! It exceeded our expectations—amazing value for money, exceptional service, and a safe, modern, well-appointed hotel. We are not sure why it’s rated as a 3-star property; it absolutely 4-star! Our standard room was generously sized, featuring a great kitchenette, a spacious bathroom, and an excellent work desk. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the room was blissfully quiet. Towels and linens were of high quality, and the entire hotel was always spotlessly clean, modern, and well-maintained. The free breakfast (daily 6:30-9:00am) was terrific! We loved popping downstairs each day. The breakfast dining area was quiet with friendly staff. The food selection was generous (4 hot dishes, baked goods, waffles, cereals, whole fruit, juices, coffee/tea). The Lobby Bar was a standout, located in the modern, light, and spacious ground floor, perfect for working, meeting, or relaxing. The Bar staff were always smiles with prompt service. The F&B options were excellent with daily Happy Hour. The hotel doesn’t offer room service, but I often grabbed a wine and food from the bar to enjoy in our room, so convenient. The inhouse, self-serve guest laundry was fab! Easy tap-and-go payments for washer and dryer with laundry detergent avail. to buy at reception or you could BYO. The standard 12pm hotel checkout was a gift. A shoutout to Jasmine at reception who made a real fuss over us Aussies—always smiling, warm, friendly, and helpful! As for location, Galleria Dallas—premier shopping, dining, and entertainment with an indoor ice rink is a 10mins walk away. Just 5mins away is the huge Target North Dallas, open daily until 11pm (with a Starbucks, grocery section, pharmacy, and liquor store), is also within safe, flat walking distance. We absolutely recommend this property—we couldn’t fault it! It was an absolute pleasure...
