Omg where to start what I thoughts was going to be a very professional experience turned out to be the most agonizing 2 hours of my daughter, family and friends lives..1st off I got the basic package for 8 kids this party was booked last minute like 3 days before the actual date of the party so I made several phone calls to the wonderful establishment to ask thousands of questions to be clear of every child I had coming ages and fees for extra kids and all of the above..to get there and go back and forth with the owner of the establishment because her employee said one thing over the phone and then its something different when I got there...one of the little girls gave me the wrong information when I first arrived there and she yelled and corrected her in front of me..but to go back and fourth with me was very unprofessional customer service went right out the window obviously it was a training issue between them and the employee so instead of honoring what I was told she stood there and contradicted her self several times about the prices and what I was told and not only my family but other people in line as witnesses heard the foolishness and agreed that she was wrong being that she had to correct a employee infront of us already...then the over charge for my extra guess...plus I cleaned up and hosted 90% of my own party which I paid for a hostess by the way....I was offered no apology, nothing off my booking, I order extra food and drinks, not even offered a soda on the house for the rudeness I endured...so I will not be returning and they will lose business behind this I decorate for a living and when people come to me I will definitely never reccomend Skate World! If you love roller skating and you are anywhere on the South Side of Houston - this is the place to be! The music is great and the rink floor is huge and super clean. We went in for my nieces 12th birthday party and man did they make it amazing. The team went above and may beyond waiting on us for everything. They cut the cake, served it to us all with ice cream, and so many smiles and added kindness on top of it. WHAT WAS REALLY AMAZING - the owner coming out to the table and asking us how things were going. My sister was telling him that I had paid for my 3 kids up front and didn't add them to the party list since I didn't know how many friends my niece had invited. He personally asked me to come with him, took me to the front, and refunded me for their admission and 2 skate rentals (may daughter and I have our own skates). TOTALLY UNHEARD OF IN A WORLD FULL OF GREED THESE DAYS! The food was actually decent bar food, fried pickles, cheese curds, funnel cake sticks. Everything is about $5 or under per item. They even have combo meals that are a pretty decent price. The staff was super kind and inviting at all times. I have never had a great experience like this at a rink. SAFETY FIRST! - they did a great job of giving SPEED skaters the dead center of the floor, babies with walkers and beginners the sides near the walls, and moderate skates in the middle of both. Went on a Sunday at 3pm. Super packed, hardly no parking. Front desk staff (young lady with glasses) was super rude. She tried to charge me $9 per kid, and when I mentioned the website stated $7 per person...she just nodded and looked at me stupid. Trying to point out the signs. I asked to speak to the manager — A older elderly woman came to the front and the younger staff person told her what I mentioned about the online price the elder woman just rolled her eyes and seemed annoyed. After that she said rudely, “I spoke to the woman today and she said the prices are on there” “They are on there”. At that point I was done with the old lady—I said well just so you know it’s not, and I showed her my cell phone with the SkateWorld website w/the price list. I told her I’ll pay the $9 just know it’s NOT updated. At that point she apologized and said “I’m sorry for the confusion” . Horrible customer service and management. I get your packed and busy but you don’t have to treat your customers like that. I live right down the street and bring my kids at least 2x a month. Best believe I’m going to think twice about coming back. And will also be sharing my experience w/the loads of softball & baseball teammates/parents, cousins and friends we know. I rather drive to Fun City Sk8 and give my business to someone who values...
