I ordered 1 pound of moist cut brisket trimmed today my first time to visit. When I got home, I was very surprised at how small the slices were. The flavor was very good and the brisket, the baked beans are very good but loaded with sugar, very sweet Mixed with little small shavings of brisket which brought out the flavor, but still too much sugar. Also ordered the jalapeño sausage, which was great. But what shocked me the most was when I asked to look at a piece of pecan pie. They wanted five dollars for a very Small piece of pecan pie. That was not much bigger than a hostess Twinkie. I’m not joking Once went into a local store to do business, I asked them about the brisket house and they said it’s good but they were very expensive. That is very true. They are really very expensive. I was totally surprised at how small the slices of brisket were compared to other barbecue places in the vicinity, but overall the flavor was really good, but still it was very overpriced. The local People even said to me before I went there be prepared to pay a lot of money for what you get because they are highly expensive and I found this to be very true. The main reason that they do such a big volume of business is because they live very close to the local refineries and chemical plants and a lot of of companies employees go there to eat they pay for their meals and their supervisors usually pay for their meals because they get reimbursed so price means nothing to the Big companies but to the overall public people such as myself I could afford it but pricewise it still is very expensive. Very nice people very clean inside and out from what I could see you can’t see the kitchen compared to Rudy’s barbecue where you can see everything in league city But I live in Pasadena and by the time I drive to league city and back I would end up spending more money, but at Rudy’s they weigh their barbecue right in front of you at the register so you know how much you’re getting exactly to the pound, plus ounce Overall I guess it was pretty good. I’m stuffed right now and will probably sleep very good tonight. I will go there again, but it was a total joke that they were selling such small pieces of a pecan pie for five bucks a slice, which was equivalent as I mentioned earlier to a hostess Twinkie...
Read moreMy daughter, Grandson were eating at The Brisket House, and this older man came and sat right in the seat in front of us, he looked at me and said that you are talking to loud! I said excuse me are you talking to me? He said Yes, I said we were here before you and the restaurant is almost empty, why are you sitting here ,you can sit some where else that we are mining our own business, and that you should mind your own and sit somewhere else. He said, I am not going to move,so I said leave us alone, we are just trying to eat our lunch, by this time another younger guy came to the table and sat his drink down, and left like he didn't want to be a part of what was happening. We finished eating our lunch and as we were leaving, I asked the younger guy was that his father and he said no.I said I don't blame you I would not claim him either, and I told the older guy that he was to old for what he was doing and that I was going to pray for him cause he was going to Hell, and that he should be trying to make it to Heaven instead of Hell. After that I told the employee behind the counter that this is running off your business with his bigotry and told her how the old man had harassed us during our lunch time, and that we came in there all the time buying #4 brisket weekly, coming to eat lunch. She acted like she did not care and I have not and will not go back, I will let my money talk for me. If was or for this incident I would have given The Brisket...
Read moreI’ll preface this review by saying that I rarely eat barbecue, and when I do it’s chopped, because in my experience very few people know how to cook meat to my definition of tenderness. That being said, my daughter and I were craving BBQ and being fairly new to Deer Park we rolled the dice on The Brisket House. As I looked at the menu board to determine what kind of chopped beef options I had, a man in an apron came around from behind the counter and handed each of us a piece of brisket. Let me tell you, that was absolutely the best piece of brisket I have ever eaten, and I’m a 51 year old native Texan - I’ve had some brisket. We each immediately placed an order for the brisket plate (a first UNchopped order for me in probably 35 years) with two sides. It was wonderful! If I had to nitpick, I would say I like my potato salad with a little less mayonnaise and a little more mustard, and my barbecue sauce a little less sweet and quite a bit spicier than their current recipes. Overall though, this place is a real winner. If you want a super juicy, fork-tender plate of brisket, this place is going to be hard to beat. Two...
