Where do I even begin? Extremely rude staff --they should NOT be the first point of contact! Even the Manager left much to be desired regarding good customer service after I asked to speak with him. The young lady behind the counter (serving A-List customers like myself and my friend), looked up from sweeping, made eye contact with me, then turned around with her back to me continuing to slowly sweep 3 pieces of popcorn meticulously into the dustpan. I had been waiting, no customers in front of me, patient and smiling and pleasant prior to the pure disrespect. So I stepped over to ask a cashier if he could take my order, and with the personality of a soda cracker, he pointed to the rude young girl and said she would help me. I stepped back over to her, called her over to the counter (even though she was looking at me) and I asked for popcorn and a large soda cup. She literally SLAMMED the paper cup on the counter, all the while scowling at me. She set the popcorn bucket down hard and as far away from me as possible. I had enough! I said to her that I didn't know if she was having a bad day or was upset but I didn't deserve that treatment for any reason. Can we say zero "customer service"?! But foul, too?! I proceeded to get my soda and not surprisingly, I found that my cup was a medium when the lid was too big. My friend was also appalled and had brought a Manager over. Though shaken, I politely explained what had transpired and her response was to shake her head, sneer, and tell the Manager and I that she didn't do any of that. đ€đĄ He appeared to side with her as indifferent to the situation. His only response was to listen and turn his back. Unbelievable!! Come on AMC at Cherry Creek mall--put your pleasant and courteous employees in the front! I know you have them! Check your management! Btw, I give reviews often and probably 99% are positive but this particular experience has left a truly rotten taste in...
Read moreThe food was actually pretty good. It's quite expensive for how much you get though. For the same price, you can go to a much nicer dinner and then to a movie.
The seats actually detract from the experience. If you're just there to watch the movie, it's fine. They're plush and you can virtually lay back. If you're actually eating, however, this is not the case.
The tables are installed in such a way that you can't comfortably get to the food. I'm 6', and it felt like my plate was at my chest. I was constantly worried that I would accidentally hit it with my wrist and make a mess (remember it's dark in there). There is no cup holder or anything on the tiny swinging table. The cup-holder is in your armrest (only on one side). So, if you want to share the $7 soda with your kid or your date, guess what? You'll spend half the movie passing it around if you couldn't get the correctly arranged seats. Why couldn't they add this to both sides? Who knows, maybe so you will buy more. I don't know.
Also, the "table" is more like a tray, except it won't catch anything if you spill. It's completely flat, swings very easily, and is just a disaster waiting to happen. I didn't run into the issue of spiling, but I can see it happening and ruining the movie. Especially if the person who's table is virtually adjacent to your own is clumsy or a child.
Maybe I'm spoiled, but I feel that a 2 hour $100 experience for two people, could be much better. Especially, when these days, you can rent the movie on Amazon and get a better meal delivered.
Apparently, AMC executives gave up on trying to differentiate themselves by creating value. Someone should teach them about things like Balanced Scorecards and the Value Chain (hint, hint). It's like they're just riding the movie theater wave all the way to shore. Trying to milk the last few million out of an industry, before it goes the way of carriage-making...
Read moreFirst thing I am not critiquing is the service. I think the service here is lovely and everyone I spoke to was very nice and efficient. The issue is everything else. This is why it gets 2 stars. The people who work there are great.
My husband and I spent $100 for two tickets and two chicken sandwiches. I wish I hadn't. If you want to compete with Alamo Drafthouse, I will review you accordingly. The sandwich I received was no better than one I would get at Wendy's and in a plastic container. $16 for essentially a $5 burger? Are you kidding me? I felt lied to.
It would have been wonderful to have the damn prices listed on the website. Or all of the menu items on the website to even be available for purchase but NOPE! lol what a sly little system. I will admit when I get scammed, take it on the chin, but I will also do my do-diligence and warn others.
I understand Cherry Creek mall is a temple to the Neuveau Riche but JESUS CHRIST I have been to DOLLAR THEATERS with better behaved clientele. To left of me a family with a child (at an R rated movie btw) who was playing on her phone the WHOLE TIME. To the right of me a boomer with brightness all the way up on his phone THE WHOLE MOVIE. Again, I spent $100 of my dollars on this shit and I can't enjoy it.
This also isn't a slight on AMC. Again, I go to a MUCH better AMC near my area. The only reason I came to this theater was because the AMC near me (in a lower tax bracket area btw) didn't have a good place to sit unless I wanted to be up close an personal to the screen.
Not coming here again. I would rather wait for better seats at the better AMC or drive all the way out to Alamo Drafthouse which has better prices, better food, better atmosphere, and better theater goers with a strict no...
