The store itself is great. There's a reason I'm giving it one star, which I will expound on.
I am not a fan of dispensaries that have cleverly misspelled names or rely on discounts and specials to draw in customers. On that front, Local Product is certainly more to my liking. They had a specific topical I have had success with and a fair selection of edibles. It's clean, nice, modern, etc. The budtenders seem to be friendly and know what they're doing.
No complaints on that front. In fact, I don't typically write reviews, but felt compelled to after I reached out to the store about my experience and received no reply.
So here's the problem.
After purchasing my products, I stepped in the lobby. Foolishly I did not put my bag of goods into my backpack in the shop proper and paused to put the bag into my pack.
There was a couple, a young man and a young woman, interacting with the staff member who was managing door access. To save typing that out, I will call them "Jean" (or "jawn" if you're from Philly). As I stepped towards the door, the young man blocked me. Not forcefully, but plaintively as in "I need help". The woman pushed her phone nearly into my face and pushed a button on the screen. A computer voice started, "Dear friend..." I was just realizing that the couple did not speak English when "Jean" started in with a loud, commanding voice, "Sir I'm going to have to ask you to leave. You cannot buy for other people."
Jesus, Jean! I just got here.
I like to think the best of people, despite growing evidence to the contrary. Jean was probably exasperated. The couple was... I have no idea what they wanted. Maybe they wanted me to buy marijuana for them or maybe they needed five dollars. I never heard enough to know what was going on. I paused long enough to listen because not all Americans speak English and not enough of the Americans that do are tolerant and kind. (And I'm technically Canadian, but whatever.)
Now if Jean was being racist or reflecting hidden undercurrents of conservative views, I cannot say. I am mostly being hyperbolic here, I think Jean was just tired. But still, I felt like I had not only been accused of something I hadn't yet not actually done (take that!), but I wasn't ever welcome back.
But that's not even the reason for my one star review! No, I am giving Local Product of Colorado one star, because I reached out to them via their site just explaining what had happened and how I was shocked and a bit insulted ("the nerve!") and they never responded.

Read moreI went in there for the first time today, it was a top rated dispensary so I expected top rated service. The people at the front were really friendly, the store was colorful and pleasant to look at. But when I was attended by a bud tender named Tom he seemed very impatient. He just said "let me know if you see something you like.", And started stocking things and putting stickers on product. He said he didn't know anything at all about the cheaper concentrates. I feel like all the employees should know at least a little bit about all of their products. I kind of felt like they didn't want me to purchase anything. Maybe he was having a bad day or something, but you shouldn't take it out on customers. He seemed to get more annoyed when I was just standing there deciding which flower to get. I ended only getting an 1/8th instead of a half because I didn't want to make Tom more upset. It wasn't even that busy in the store. At The Green Solution, the bud tenders are very friendly and patient with you. I've never had a bad experience there. I will give them another chance in the future and hopefully if I'm the area and hope I will have a more pleasant experience and hopefully change the rating. Added one star to rating because the flower was...
Read moreI have been an imbiber for a long time. I was partaking before we legalized. I am stating this to establish my authority on the subject. When you go to a store you want to be assured that your getting quality. Check! Local product has yet to let me down. But what you really want is good service and friendly faces. Every time I go in there, its a positive experience. They limit the amount of people coming in and out so you don't have to feel crowded or observed. I have never felt rushed. I also like the genuine interaction with the employees. They aren't just going through the motions. I had help from Kristen today. She rocks. I was able to have a conversation with her that was below the superficial layer of plastic that we subject ourselves to daily in this rat race! There are quite a few other dispensaries that feel like a turn and burn experience. I hate the little mouse mazes that they almost all have. I also don't like the huge lines. I haven't had to wait over at Local. Its not because they aren't busy. They just know...
