Went here after working a show at the convention center all day. We based our choice on reviews and the menu posted on this site, grubhub, and the establishments' own website. All of the menus agreed on price except the paper ones we were handed at the table. Those menus had the prices jacked up by more than 50%. When we questioned the difference, we were rudly informed that we would be paying the paper menu price. When we asked, "What if we ordered takeout?" Before we could even finish the question, we were interrupted with "you're gonna pay those prices" while pointing at the paper menu. The menus in the restaurant were printed on paper and slipped into a folding menu sleeve. Again, those prices were more than 50% over the prices listed on their own website. I believe they inflated their prices simply to steal from the people attending Fan Expo. I would never give this piece of garbage a penny of my money, and unless you like supporting dishonest businesses, I suggest you don't either.
Added after response: You cannot blame an app with "very old pricing" for the exact same prices being on you own...
Read moreCould have easily been 5 star, but there were 6 to 10 customers including us last time we were there and the table service was straight bad. We wanted to get another signature drink before we left but were sick of waiting.
The reason I want to give 5 stars is the amazing chef. Best French onion soup and best ravioli I've ever had, period. The soup is heavily blanketed with top notch gruyere and i can't even describe the overall flavor other than everything you want that soup to be. The goat cheese ravioli was out of this world. Expensive, but worth every dime. Their apps are somewhat unique and tasty. The pizza crust or oven needs improvement, like the crust finishes cooking before the rest of the pizza making burnt edges and not quite done toppings, but good topping combinations.
The signature drinks will appeal to the adventurous palette. There's some interesting but delicious combinations here, but a few misses. Start yourself with the Dark Crown and you won't be...
Read moreThis place is absolutely one of Denver's hidden gems. We were blown away by the hospitality we received by Zach the owner of this Italian restaurant/bar. From the moment you step foot into this establishment you are taken back in history. This building holds many hidden stories and secrets within its walls including its delicious cocktails and recipes. Chef Luke prepared a flavorful meal. We enjoyed the artichoke dip along with the fried ravioli. As a main course we enjoyed the Shrimp Scampi Diablo and the Seared Salmon Risotto. These two dishes were packed with flavor! For Dessert we enjoyed the delicious, rich Mint Chocolate Truffle Cheesecake. The atmosphere of this restaurant is also a bonus to the delicious food served here. We suggest that prior to your visit you make a reservation because weekends tend to get busy. This is the perfect date night as well as family night out location. We love Bar Red and the experience we had! We can't wait to...
