I have heard that there are five areas in the general Denver metropolitan large area. Two of these small commerce areas in south Denver include Gaylord and Pearl Street, that are close to each other. Both of all of the small areas used to be their own towns.
Gaylord has many restaurants and some shops, selling things ranging from skateboards to fancy clothes and unusual and imported crafts and arts. Read moreGaylord is changing... it used to be a quiet sleepy little district (Thing new England in the fall). Upon our last venture, we stopped in at the Wash Park Grill. It was like a millennial/bro meet and greet. Loud obnoxious music, over priced drinks, and patrons wearing hoodies, hats, and halter tops. Along this same stretch is a ski-themed pizza bar, a tavern, and a few other restaurants.. Not to mention the much-to-do shops that are overly specific and cost far to much to shop in. If you frequent cherry creek this might be up your alley. Better spots in town...
Read moreI went to Devils Food in Wash Park West. One reason I really enjoyed going there is that using a cell phone is not really supported. If you head to Devils Food, make sure you've gotten your phone calls out of the way. :)
The bike shop on South Gaylord is a good place if you have bottomless pits as the pockets to your pants. Otherwise, I just watch the bike shop from a distance. I'm a serious biker (I have both mountain and road bikes included in my list of bikes that I enjoy).
