Being that I needed to stock up my pantry for items that I needed for Japanese recipes, I was eager to see what I could find. The market greets you with a nice fresh produce section upon entering, where you'll find items such as mountain yam, daikon, and the hard to find shiso leaves, for when you wish to make pork belly shiso yakitori. You then pass by the seafood counter where fresh salmon, saba, maguro, tako, and more can be found for your sashimi/sushi dishes. The chu-toro I ate today was some of the best, this side of Tsukiji market. The middle of the store houses the grocery section, where canned vegetables, fruits, sauces, nori, flours, candy, snacks, and soft drinks/juices/teas can be found. At the back of the store, one can find kitchen utensils, dishware, appliances, soaps, shampoo and clothing. It is amazing that the store has such a variety of items, considering the overall footprint it occupies. All of this was great to experience, but the best part of Pacific Mercantile Company is its staff and management team, which is quick to assist, give guidance, and facilitate a great client experience. Dōmo...
