Busy Bodies Play Cafe - Rockvale Outlets — Attraction in East Lampeter Township

Let me start by saying I have been here many times since they have opened and just recently have had multiple bad experiences. In November, I went to take my 2 children (one of my children has autism), I checked their social media to see the schedule to make sure there was no party going on. It was around 1pm and there was no schedule posted, so I ASSUMED that they would have posted by now if there was a party going on so people didn’t show up with their children. Well that was my fault for assuming because I walked my 2 kids up to the door to find out there was a private party and they could not play. It was not posted anywhere- I checked multiple times. Should I have called? Yes probably. However, it is not my job to make sure that a business is open when they say they’re open and don’t post any updates saying otherwise. I had to carry my autistic child who did not understand why we had to leave all the way back to the car and try to explain to him what was going on which he did not understand.The second time was today. I arrived and checked to make sure there was no party and there wasn’t. So once again ASSUMED we were safe to go. Well, we arrived, no one was at the front desk when we walked in so my autistic child took his shoes off and began to play right away while I was waiting to pay, when someone finally came up we were told we had to leave because they were at max capacity, once again causing a HUGE transition issue with my autistic child. Please POST SOMEWHERE if you are going to be closed for a private party or at max capacity. I am angry for my children that this has now happened to them twice and I am disappointed in how these situations are handled. You need a better system for letting your customers know when you are at max capacity or closed. Again, I probably should have called after the first occurrence. However I have been here many many times and never have seen it at max capacity so I never knew that would be an issue. If you have a special needs child, especially one with transition issues, I would not recommend this business. Great atmosphere, wonderful and friendly staff, and the toys are so fun and keep a child's interest. I have yet to see a kid hit, bite, or kick while visiting, and I think that is because even when it it busy, it isn't really stressful or aggravating for kids who have a stressor. Occasionally, a kid might cry because of overstimulation or because they don't want to leave, but that just goes to show how vital Busy Bodies Play Cafe is to parent and children alike. Their membership plan is super generous (it includes discounts for food, drink, and they even sell some of the toys up at the front desk so there are some helpful options for birthday and holiday gifts for all of the little ones in your life). The parents I have met are really nice too, and for a person not originally from the area with lots of their family far away... this is a great way to meet other parents in the trenches of toddlerdom too! It is a great place for your little busy...

I never write reviews…ever. But this was warranted by far. We had the opportunity to visit here today. My daughter LOVED it. Absolutely loved. My daughter also had the opportunity to go to Dutch wonderland yesterday….she had more fun here. The owners are so personable and friendly and knowledgeable. Even their daughter is sweet. Everything is so clean and the atmosphere is just relaxing and safe for the kids and parents…but soooo fun for kids. So many fun things for them to do to just open their imagination but learn too. I’m so excited I found this place and you really should too. Especially if you have kids with sensory issues like mine or particular…it’s great. I can’t say enough good things and can’t wait to...
