Despite the many bad reviews of this store, I still went to give this store a try because I also wanted to sell some clothes. Man, these reviews arenât wrong.
I went there around 2:30pm and was given options of either staying in the store and wait 30 minutes or they can text me if I choose to leave the store but there is no expected time of when they will be done with my clothes. I really didnât want to wait that long standing around the store, so I left. It was a Sunday so they close at 6. I had called at 4 and asked when they will be done my clothes and they asked if I got a text message and I said no, and they said I have to wait for the text, there is no expected time. 3 HOURS LATER still no text⌠so 5 minutes before closing literally at 5:55 I went in the store to get my clothes. It was already done but I never received any texts?? I asked the girl Laci if they had the right phone number and instead of her confirming what the number was, she just said âwell itâs whatever is in the system.â Um okay?? Not even gonna reconfirm what number they had in the system?? I told her I didnât get a text and she said âsometimes our system messes up and doesnât send out texts.â What kind of cheap system do you guys have and not even do anything about it?? Let alone even give that option of texting when it doesnât work sometimes. Iâm not around the area so I really waited in my car and in the shopping center for an unexpected 3 1/2 hours, just for them to only pay me $3.50!!
I gave them a bag of mostly fall/winter clothing including a $120 Hollister jacket that was gently used. I had 12 pieces of clothes. They didnât take the jacket or any sweaters I had in there. They only took 2 things, a light t-shirt dress and a pair of knee high socks. They gave me $3.50 for them. This store clearly states on its website that they are looking for fall clothing but they took none of my fall items which doesnât make any sense and they gave me no reason as to why they couldnât except 90% of my clothes.
Iâm actually very disappointed and I can say that even though I am not a huge fan of Platoâs Closet, I will just go back to selling at Platoâs because at least they pay a little bit better, will accept more of your clothes, and only take about 15 minutes to go through your clothes.
The store is at least organized and the clothes are pretty decent. I might return to the store to check out the clothes but I definitely wonât sell anymore. Whether it might be because they are understaffed or not, Iâm just not happy with the timing you need to put if you want to sell with this store and the...
Read moreThe people who say they would give this place negative stars are 100% correct. They have absolutely TERRIBLE service. I called this clothes mentor TWICE to make sure they would go through my clothes in the same day because I live 2 hours away. Both times the person on the phone tells me they estimate about 30 minutes to go through each bin of clothes. I bring in two bins and again explain to Brianna at the counter that I live really far away and that I need them asap today. She tells me that isnât a problem and they can do that. I proceed to spend the next 30 minutes looking at clothing in the store, and the entire time the employees are doing other things and not going through the bins. Keep in mind itâs 11:30 AM and the store is completely empty. I wasnât mad, I understand their jobs require work other than going through bins, but THE WHOLE 30 MINUTES I WAS IN THE STORE THEY DIDNT TOUCH MY BINS. KEEP IN MIND, THEY SAY 30 MINUTES PER BIN. I figured I wouldnât breathe down their neck and Iâd give them some time and come back. I come back two and a half hours later and they tell me they didnât go through my clothes because I wasnât waiting in the storeâŚ. WHAT??? I was waiting for 30 minutes and you didnât go through it then either. Brianna and the other girl were incredibly rude and unprofessional when they were clearly aware I was waiting in the vicinity for my clothes. They were laughing & mocking my dissatisfaction. Brianna also marked my bins as drop offs and not âwaitingâ when I told her very clearly at least twice that I was waiting for them. I think it just comes down to laziness and not wanting to do their jobs because they didnât even offer to go through it when I came back. I ended up just taking the clothes back home. Absolutely awful experience, i would never give these people my business again. The employees really need to be trained on proper customer service procedure because the way this situation was handled is an absolute joke.
UPDATE: Be careful leaving a review here if youâve ever given them your personal information from a transaction AT ANY LOCATION. The owner abuses their transactional data to track down patrons who leave negative reviews in order to intimidate them into silence. I advise all of you to request your personal data be removed from their systems unless you want to become victim to this abnormal and morally misguided...
Read moreAfter seeing one of my friend Brittanyâs TikToks this morning (she shops there all the time), I decided I needed to speak upâbecause I wasnât going to say anything at first.
When I arrived, I waited in line. A staff member took my bag and said it would take about 30 minutes to authenticate. I said that was fineâI only had one item. She took my phone number and had me sign a receipt.
Also after watching my friendâs TikTok, I realized she never gave me my copy of the receipt. Every time I see my friend post about her visits, they always give a receipt back. This made me feel uneasy.
I arrived around 6:15 PM and waited in my car. An hour later, I went inside just so they could see I was still there, but no one said anything to me. I walked around the store, then went back to my car to wait.
By after 8 PMâclose to 8:15âI went to the door and knocked because I had no idea what was going on. Staff inside were still sorting clothes but just stared at me like I was doing something wrong. Finally, a younger employee with a bun and brown skin came to the door. She said âHey,â so I asked if they were closed. She replied âYeah, but I donât knowâ and walked away.
At that point, I explained I was still waiting for my bag. Someone told me, âWe texted you,â but I never received a text. I was literally sitting outside the store with both of my phones, showing them that there was no message. One staff member was getting short with me, saying the text is automatic. Another, thankfully, was politeâshe checked the system and saw my phone number was entered wrong.
Then she offered me $60 for a Fendi duffel bag, saying that if I took the offer, it would still have to be authenticated. But from the beginning, I was told I was waiting only for authentication, so this made no sense. And $60 for a Fendi bag is insulting.
Overall, the lack of communication, the mix-up with my contact info, the unprofessional attitude from some staff, and the extremely low offer made this one of the worst shopping experiences Iâve had. I will never be...
