Updates after delivery: More awesome service from Bob's! Our delivery team, Kevin and Juan, were absolutely the most professional, friendly and efficient ever! They arrived exactly the time they promised, both were moving quickly, but still being totally respectful of my little home and the new furniture they were bringing inside. Kevin and Juan both addressed me with respect and patience, they were both in great spirits and made me feel comfortable as a woman home alone with two strangers. They carefully brought our new sectional inside, cautiously and professionally, unwrapped each piece and ensured we were completely happy before asking one more final time if there was anything else they could do to help before leaving. I have had many deliveries made over the years, but these two young men have set the bar high. I did offer them a tip as thanks, but as a customer service snob, I can confidently recommend y'all at Bob's invite Kevin and Juan to teach customer service to employees across your business. They work so well together and should be sharing with others how they made a simple furniture delivery the best part of my day! Give these two guys a bonus and a raise, have them train others and thank them for being awesome, because they are! (And no, I'm not related and haven't ever met them before... Just a grateful Bob's customer who appreciates great customer service!) Original review re: sales: Our entire experience at Bob's today was a fantastic one, with most of the credit going to our incredible sales dude, Noe (and of course, some credit to Bob). Rather than swarming in as the sales people do at most furniture stores, Noe gave us some space, but welcomed us in and led with a relaxed nature, a genuine smile and familiarity and confidence in the huge selection of furniture available that truly exceeded our expectations. We haven't shopped at Bob's before, but Noe gave us a flawless first impression with his honest insight and friendly banter. We never felt pressured or that we were being rushed, but Noe also respected our time and gave us his complete attention while we checked out different options and he made suggestions along the way. Noe had a handy Bob-tablet thing that immediately allowed him to pull up different configurations of the sectionals we looked at, including exact measurements to ensure it would fit in our space, which was a huge help. Using that same handy Bob-tablet thing, Noe also gave us prices and expected delivery times immediately. (And no waiting for a manager or being shuffled over to a "cashier" when we were ready to commit to our choices and place the order -- Noe just typed in a few things and even processed our card himself, with us receiving hard copies and electronic copies within seconds.) As someone who has made many (many!) big home and car purchases, I really appreciate the efficiency and direct contact with just one (awesome) employee who was funny, humble and sharp (not cocky). Truthfully, buying furniture isn't usually an enjoyable time and most places carry the same basic variations, but the difference is usually found in the quality of their customer service, and today Noe at Bob's won our loyalty. He gave us honest opinions and related to us in a natural way without being smarmy, salesy and "smooth," and it is so appreciated! We were surprised to hear that Noe is a new-ish employee at Bob's, but my unsolicited advice is that y'all keep this guy on your sales floor AND have him teach customer service skills to others, because it's unfortunately a mostly...
Read moreGreat service. No high pressure from Rhonda. Allowed us to make our own decision. This is based on our first experience from 2019.
This following is based on a recent experience from 2023:
We purchased a dresser and had "White Glove Delivery ". After the delivery was delayed by 7 hrs, the delivery crew placed the dresser against the designated wall. It wasn't until a few months later when we pulled it away from the wall to plug in a TV that we noticed the back had a half-moon shaped deep cut from a box knife from the delivery drivers. Around the same time, we had 2 drawers that wouldn't stay completely closed. We contacted Bob's direct since it was still less than 1 year since the purchase. They directed us to communicate thru text, which was fine.
They agreed to send a tech out to see if the drawers could be repaired but when they saw the photos of the back, they said they could only offer a full credit and exchange. Problem was, they no longer offered this model and we really liked it. We asked to have the drawers repaired and an account credit for the damage and we would keep the dresser. They said they couldn't do that as it was against their policy so we initially accepted the exchange.
After reviewing their products, we contacted them back and asked to just have the drawers repaired and we would keep the dresser. They sent a tech who did the drawer repairs and when he saw the back, he took photos and said he would report it and we should call back for a credit.
We contacted them again for a third time and asked for an account credit. They acknowledged the tech advised there was damage caused by delivery. They said they couldn't issue a credit since they could only provide one "accommodation " per order and that was the drawers. We explained this was part of the initial request but they couldn't/wouldn't help. We tried to escalate but was told they advised they had already reviewed with management so they wouldn't escalate. They did offer the exchange again but we declined.
We did go back to the store and the Manager (sorry I missed his name) will give us a $50 credit to our next weeks delivery but that was his limit. We do appreciate the gesture.
We have purchased from Bob's 4 times and have had a delivery issue the first 3 times. The 4th delivery is next week. It will be our last as we will no longer purchase from Bob's. Buy at your own risk!
PS: The staff in the store has always been A++,...
Read moreI really don't understand what happened to kid's bedroom furniture. I went to Bob's, Ashley's, Mor and Jerome's. Bob's was the only one that had any sort of selection all the rest had like 1 or 2 white twin beds and that was it. But all of them had the gaudy, jewel encrusted light up bed. (It was hideous and jacked up the price because of the lights). Even at Bob's we were forced to get a headboard with lights because unless you wanted the basic, basic white bed all the bed came with lights. What happened to just quality furniture? Stop with the gimmicks and either give me a lower price or better quality. I'm giving Bob's El Cajon a 3 and not lower because at least they had a selection and the prices were ok. The first time we walked in there last night someone kinda pointed us in the direction of the kid's beds by saying "they are in the back" and then we never saw or heard from another employee again even though we had a bunch of questions. So we decided to leave. That's when we went around to Ashley's(which the service was even worse), Mor(service was very good) and Jerome's(service was ok). Then we went back to Bob's. This time we walked in and walked straight to the back not talking to anyone. However this time Bernard, a sales associate, actually came back and waited nearby to see if we needed any help. Not too close where we felt pressure but close enough to help. He instantly was there to answer all of our questions and was extremely knowledgeable. He also took the time to explain the different mattress types and didn't seem annoyed when my daughter wanted to feel a bunch of different types of mattresses. Before Bernard we didn't have a great experience with Bob's, employee wise, but Bernard saved it. I wish I could give a 3.5 but that's...
