Overpriced, 0 transparency on pricing or tax, they use a dated system that runs your debit card as an atm transaction then they "give" you the difference back (after lying about needing to round up to the nearest increment of 5) they dont honor veteran discounts on top of current sales nvm we already have the highest rate of taxation of ANY legal state in the union, had over 800 points saved up for their "loyalty program" if you could even call it that no rhyme reason or pending notification but somehow all points are gone as if they have an expiration, 0 explanation or recompensation.......it's not a good business front people arbitrarily treat customers however their mood fits with 0 emphasis on professionalism or being timely (speaking specifically on the Fairview Heights location...) Collinsville is decent if you feel like driving 20 minutes further but fairview location treats people however they please because with little competition where else are people going to go for bud.... 1 individual 0.75g preroll at $17 shouldn't be 29 out the door then rounded up to 30 and another 3.50 location atm fee and a 3.50 bank atm fee.... less than a gram (of some low quality mid weight btw) crappily stuffed into an unbelievably overpriced bundle of crap......... a quarter oz. at mystic greenz was $38 flat after tax.... a 5 pack of prerolled at beyond hello was $22.... what gives ascend? for real where the heck is the disconnect happening and why are no efforts being made to get back to care of the customer and business..... it is also very well known and documented that their in house brands are artificially inflated and have notable weight in the jar of seeds and stems and they will not offer a fair exchange... if i pay for 28g of bud i expect 28g on the scale not 25.6 of bud and 2.4 of seeds and stems going off of ascend logic they should give me $60 back (45 for the 8th plus 15 for tax) for almost an 8th that was paid for and NEVER received...... I will not be recommending this dishonest business to any contacts of mine now or in the future BAD FORM ASCEND it is these exact corrupt practices that make buying bud off "the plug" much...

Neither did the person checking me out even though I had used my USAA debit card. Hereās my only gripe, their fees at the register are illegal. My total was $47, the cashier said āWould you like to round it to $50 and receive $3 cash backā I didnāt understand but I said yes thatās fine. Before I entered my PIN I saw that I was being charged an additional $3 for a total of $53 (thatās $6 higher than the total I was just told). I asked the cashier why was there another $3 fee, he initially tried to fast talk me with the āYouāre getting cash backā and I immediately went back and pointed to the additional $3 he said itās the fee they charge you for using your debit card. I have a POS system myself so I know this for a fact to be ILLEGAL and I expressed that to him. I said āYou have an atm to charge a fee that is fine, but you can not charge me the same fee to use my debit card when that is the entire point of you accepting debit/credit cardsā. Turns out their entire system is rigged to try to get the customer on any penny. You better watch your total closely because theyāre easily making an illegal $3 minimum off of every customer that comes in there and he said that I was the ONLY customer to even point out they were double charging fees. I travel and work in the cannabis industry (from washington) and had never tried to buy a bigger quantity in this state because, frankly, the prices are absurd. But I'm here for a longer stay so I decided to do so this time. I ordered 3/4ths of an Oz and went to pick it up. Upon pick up I was informed because I have an out of state ID I could only get 15 grams. I laughed and said alright and modified my order. As she walked away she popped off with "I don't make the rules, I just follow them". Yes. I'm well aware. So while I waited I looked over the menu in front of me and decided to get a preroll on it to round out the full 15 grams. I told her and she asked if she could get me anything else. I laughed and told her apparently not. She rolled her eyes and proceeded to tell me in an exasperated fashion that gummies were an option. At this point I was done. I understand that IL is a new market but this industry is so not customer service based and -that- woman will make sure I won't ever visit the fairview location again. This isn't my first issue here but it will be my last. Hopefully collinsville is more professional or ill just take my business to other spots...
