Great location in the heart of Flagstaff, only a few minutes walk to places like Dark Sky Brewing, The Annex, Oeno and more! The bed was a little firm for me, but that's just personal preference. BEWARE THE WIFI! There is a network with better signal that is a misspelling of the business name. Very likely a fake wifi network to monitor and steal your info. There was a $20 early check in fee which the employee insisted had to be cash. He "helpfully" pointed out the ATM in the lobby and told us to just pull cash from there. No thanks! No telling if there's a well hidden skimmer there, and I'm sure the motel gets a percentage of the ATM fees. When my wife gave the employee a $20 bill, we never saw it go into a til or drawer. It sat on the counter. I think it's shady to demand a fee be paid in cash, especially when it doesn't get rung up. Found dried blood spatter on the walls of the bathroom. From other reviews, this is either a repeating occurrence, or the staff can't be bothered to do even a basic wipe down of the room. The microwave and refrigerator were also in a state that I wouldn't risk my health by using them. I'm sure there will be a reply to my review stating that if we had brought these issues to the staff's attention they would have resolved them for us. The reason we didn't bring them up is these are ALL issues that are brought up over and over in reviews. I won't stay here again, and do not recommend anyone stay here. There are plenty of other places just as close for just a few bucks more.

I hated this place. The room wasn't clean when I got to it, and the overall feeling of the building is just trashy. My room was tiny, it was a single size bed as well, and I paid about $70 a night for it which was ridiculous. The room was so rundown, and pieces were missing from the furniture and walls. I guess theres a key to turn the water in the shower to fill the tub that was missing so it was always on shower mode. The heater looked as if it were going to leak gas or carbon monoxide while I slept, and almost none of the outlets worked. Poor excuse for a room. Plus the door wasnt fixed properly so it let cold air and a ton of light through in the night. I came back one night to my room, opened the door, and realized that there was a homeless lady sleeping in my bed. I locked everything in the room when I left, and she somehow managed to break into the secure room to sleep there. Apparently the window lock was faulty and I had no idea. Or someone let her in? I believe her drunken words said something about a friend letting her in? I'm sure the owners will read this and remember that event. They moved me to a different room that was bigger, but I wish I would have just avoided this in the first place. I look at everybody reviewing this place, and the owner's comment on everyone's reviews thanking them, but it looks like they have done nothing to improve the place, seeing how everybody is saying the same thing. Try to avoid this place.

Unfriendly staff, dirty rooms.

Pros Very comfortable beds. The air conditioner works excellently. The location is fantastic for walking around downtown. The room stays dark with the curtains drawn. Fridge/microwave for left overs. Free parking. One of the guys who checked us in was very friendly and helpful.

Cons Management/owners are rude and unhelpful. Expect to pay extra hidden fees. When we booked, the room was supposed to be $54 per night. After taxes and fees, the total amount was $60-65 per night which is ok. When we got there, they made us sign an acknowledgment to pay additional fees after and in addition to the total amount due. It was then $72-75. So basically they false advertise and add on extra fees later so they can list cheap prices on google, etc. I asked what these fees were and the guy at the desk (manager? owner?) just got irritated and told me to "Just sign." I started to read the page he wanted me to sign, and he got irritated that I was taking time to do that.

The sink did not work in our room; like no water came out. They transferred us to a different room, but it was a double bed, not the queen we paid for.

There was a big hair on the side of the tub, so it's clearly not being cleaned. The air coming out of the air conditioner smelled bad, they may need to replace the pads? Parking lot is too small and hard to maneuver in. I returned to our room one night to find a note on the door of our room, and my key did not work. The person at the desk told me I had caused her cleaning staff great inconvenience for parking in space that I parked in, and that I needed to move my car at once. She said they prefer only overnight guests park there (we were staying 3 days). She seemed irritated and brusque. I told her I didn't have the keys, but that when my husband returned I would tell him. She told me not to forget. Let me clarify that this is an available parking space in their lot and that there was no indication that it could not be used. We had stayed there two days without any indication that we had caused a problem. We had actually stayed at the hotel and parked in that same spot the week before and no one said anything to us.

Advice to management: Please and thank you go a long way. Treat people with respect, not like they are an inconvenience. Answer questions and be patient. People will consider coming back. You have responded to a lot of reviews on google and said you care about customers, but if you say that and don't do it you are lying.

People come here for a comfortable stay. They are paying a lot of good money for it. The most basic thing they are paying you for is a clean room and fresh bedding. Even one star hotels are expected to offer this. Your rooms are not clean. Fix this.

If there are particular parking spots you only want occupied by certain guests, or at certain times, it is YOUR responsibility to make this clear. Do not shame guests, or inconvenience them because you failed to do this. This problem can be easily fixed by putting up a sign in that space that says, "for one night stays only" or put some orange cones in that space to keep people from parking there, and remove them when you need to.

Change the pads on your air conditioning units.

Get rid of extra costs after the total amount due.

If you make a mistake, take responsibility for it! Don't give people less than what they paid for if you have to re-assign rooms. Offer them a better room. This shows you care about the guest and their experience, and are making up for your...

⭐ 1 out of 5 stars Terrible customer service and unprofessional staff

I had a reservation at Roadway Inn and had to cancel due to a family emergency. When I first called, I explained the situation and was told that I could receive a refund, but they were having system issues at the time. They asked me to call back later. I did, multiple times, and each time I was told the same thing “we’re having system issues, call back later.”

After several calls over two days, I spoke with a woman named Toni. I was polite and calm throughout the call, but she told me my reservation was non-refundable, even though I had previously been told I could get a refund. When I asked to speak to a manager to clarify, she said I could talk to one the next day then hung up on me.

When I called back to ask for her name, she said, “I don’t want to talk to you,” and hung up again. That level of rudeness and unprofessionalism is completely unacceptable, especially when I was only trying to understand conflicting information I had been given by their own staff.

I would not recommend this hotel. The customer service is extremely poor, the staff are unhelpful and dismissive, and they don’t seem to care about guests’ situations or even basic courtesy.

To your response- Thank you for your reply. While I understand the reservation policy, the issue was not just about the policy it was about the inconsistent information I was given and the unprofessional treatment I received.

When I first called, I was told I could receive a refund but that the system was down and to call back later. I did this several times and was told the same thing each time. Then, when I finally spoke with another employee, she told me refunds were not possible. When I asked for clarification and requested to speak with a manager, she hung up on me. When I called back to ask for her name, she told me she “didn’t want to talk to me” and hung up again. That behavior is absolutely uncalled for and unacceptable, especially since I was polite and calm throughout the entire conversation.

At this point, it’s not about the refund it’s about how guests are treated when they’re simply asking for clarity and respect. I’m sure management is already aware of these issues, given the countless other reviews mentioning similar experiences and the hotel’s 2.5-star rating. Unfortunately, it seems nothing ever gets done to improve it.

I hope that changes, but based on both my experience and others’ reviews, I’m not...

Only thing good about this place was the location. Very contradicting workers. Was told many lies during our trip to flagstaff 1) they don’t charge a deposit with card, when we went to pay they wanted a deposit with cash or card 2) we could get a free upgrade to a 2 bed instead of a 1 bed. They tried to charge us for the upgrade 3) we were told we could park in handicap because there was no parking once so ever . The manager came and told us to move just so he could park there . Upon check in we had several issues felt like it took a hour just to check in because the young kid had my friend swipe her card several times for some odd reason . The money for our 3 day stay was taken from her account and he wanted her to pay again stating it declined? We ended up paying just to check in we got our keys got settled and wanted to speak to a manager after speaking w the manager he stated AGAIN that our card declined and we have to pay again . He argued with us and just repeated himself over and over no matter what we were telling him and cussing under his breath. We decided to leave and find a new hotel LATE at night and everywhere was booked not even 1 min in our room he knocks on our door while we’re packing saying “ Can you move the car so I can park there “ because “ it’s handicap spot” this man was not handicapped at all he just wanted to park his car in that spot and wouldn’t wait a few mins for us to pack first . After all of my friends and I working as front desk for hotels for over 5 plus years I have never in my life seen someone so unprofessional & inconsiderate. Completely disrespectful staff NOT TO MENTION THE ROOMS. The microwave wasn’t even near a plug in the TV didn’t work and neither did the fridge the carpet was bunched up in random places AND THE BEDS WERE DIRTY .

Oh and I forgot to add they kept saying our card declined even tho the money was taken from the account we have the hotel name and proof that it was charged and he kept saying “ well idk what to tell you we don’t have it “ yet after check out we got refunded so how did we get refunded if they never got the money to begin with ????? MAKES NO SENSE

Place is beaten up, run down and shouldn’t be open at all. MAINLY...
