Please don't buy any gear online before you read this. Just read my post first and it will make sense.
RENTALS-
This place still has the perfect vibe that it did 20 years ago. I couldn't afford to buy gear when I was younger, but I rented the best stuff from them at a price that I could afford in High School.
They still charge the same amount to get you hooked up with EVERYTHING you need for a full day at the mountain.
I'm talking QUALITY boards, boots, bindings, jacket and pants for rent.
You don't need to spend any money on your own gear if you just want to give snowboarding a try.
Call them and ask them about their rental prices and you'll see that you can afford to give it a try with top quality gear.
Go for the first time this season!
Don't be scurred!
RETAIL SALES-
Go and see these guys if you are going to commit to snowboarding by purchasing this type of quality gear.
I would recommend SKI HAUS over any other board shop I've ever been to.
They do not carry anything of cheap quality AT ALL so don't expect any special bargains on low quality products because they only carry the best in retail for people that are serious about riding.
You can find deals online for cheaper snowboarding gear, but you will not find Ski Haus' product line for any cheaper than they have in their store.
I just bought a brand new Salomon Sleepwalker with Union Atlas bindings from Ski Haus for less than I would have paid online, but not because I got discounts on cheaply made products.
Josiah (EXCELLENT manager, please promote or raise) knew that I was serious and excited when I told him that I was heading over there to get ALL new gear.
I told him that I wanted to avoid online stores and support their board shop and purchase everything there if I could afford to.
He immediately gave me a discount when I bought my board and bindings. I had the intention of paying full price for my gear to support them. I didn't try to bargain or try to get unreasonable discounts. He then gave me ANOTHER discount after I bought my jacket, pants, and boots. I didn't even have to ask for it. I have talked to all the guys that work there and I can tell you that every single one of them only wants to make your boarding experience the best it can be.
I told my buddy there what I wanted to do with my board on the mountain, how I ride, my experience level, favorite parts of riding, and he suggested the perfect board for how I ride. He didn't try to sell me an $800 board with $400 bindings because he listened to what I needed. He didn't try to upsell me and he knew that I would get much more out of a Salomon Sleepwalker with nice bindings. Go check out their shop and talk to the guys that work there and I think you will feel the same vibe I'm...
Read moreOutstanding experience. This team went above and beyond in every way. First, the store was complete chaos at 8:30am with so many people trying to rent skis/snowboards for the day that they announced they were about to run out, even though they had only been open since 7am. Despite the chaos, each team member was patient, responsive and helpful. The guy at the front greeting people and answering the phone was kind, positive, and funny! Not one team member showed any sign of impatience, or being annoyed at the situation or all the questions being directed at them. Secondly, there was a bad snow storm that delayed us from getting down the mountain. We left the mountain around 5, and what is normally less than a 30 minute drive down to Ski Haus, took almost 2.5 hours! We called to let them know, and they immediately told us "No rush!". They informed us there had been an accident causing the delay, and told us to drive safe as they didn't want us to get in an accident, and that we could take our time to get there and they would wait. These guys opened at 7am, and we saw the same faces when we returned our equipment at 7pm! They were just as pleasant when we returned as when we arrived in the morning. They were kind to our kids, let us use the restroom, and showed no irritability that we came in so late, or that they were still working. We had such a nice conversation with them and were asking so many questions about skiing in the area that they forgot to give us our return slip for the equipment we returned. I got a call at around 8:30pm from them because of this mix up, and they were still pleasant just asking if we were coming in tonight to return our stuff. I explained to them that we came about an hour ago, and described our conversations, and my kids, and they remembered, and were so kind and apologized for the mistake and wished us a good night. I was so impressed with this group, and their positive energy and willingness to help. They even recommended another rental shop down the road people could go to in the morning when they were running out of equipment! These guys should be commended for their professionalism, and kindness to their customers. I will go to Ski Haus first whenever we need to rent equipment, and highly recommend them to anyone looking to rent equipment for skiing at the SnoBowl in Flagstaff. Awesome guys, thank you for an amazing experience. Truly...
Read moreI don’t have enough good things to say about my experience at SkiHaus! I would give 10 stars if I could, my experience was just that great. I visited last week with my two kids for their first ski trip. I myself hadn’t been on skis in over 10 years. First impression might lead you to believe the shop to be small, chaotic, and too laid back, but trust me when I tell you that this is far from the case. From the moment we entered we were taken care of. The shop was in full swing due to the winter break, however we didn’t wait for more than a few minutes. As my kids had never skied, and it had been such a long time for me, I had no idea of what sizes of anything was needed. From boots, poles, skis, helmets, jackets and pants, etc., I was clueless. None of this was an issue! The assistant manager, Curtis, took care of me and my kids from beginning to end. We never felt rushed (And we had to try multiples of each item), he fielded all of our questions, gave me some great advice, and got us on our way in fairly short order. All the while the attitudes of everyone in the shop was upbeat, friendly, and welcoming. After our first day of skiing I realized that a set of poles had been swapped with a Snowbowl rental! I entered the shop expecting to have to offer a long-winded explanation. Again, no problem! No one even batted an eyelash! Nothing was a problem at SkiHaus! In fact, Curtis even comp’d us on the rental fee for the second day for the most minor error that he made the day before! The attention to customer service was mind-blowing. Working in a customer service industry myself (Airline), whereas the customer service is nowhere near as good as it was at SkiHaus, it just struck me that this is the way business should be conducted. They are clearly not the largest ski rental shop, however you can tell that they are just shooting to be the best, and not the biggest. All of my future ski rentals will be made at SkiHaus. When I arrived at Snowbowl I could only smile as I watched the rental line snake out of the door, in what can best be described as an “assembly line” style rental station, not to mention the fact that SkiHaus beats Snowbowl’s rental prices by a mile! If you’re headed up to Snowbowl all I can say is drop in to SkiHaus, for you first, last, and only...
