We enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and drinks here, but their restaurant style is a little interesting. The food is elevated brewery food but a little pricey, especially for not having a server. It's like a mix between fast casual and a gastropub with prices on the elevated gastropub side. It takes a little orientation of their concept and restaurant if you're a first timer like we were.
You can seat yourself and check the menu to figure out what you want before you go to the register. Then you pay and order your food and drinks at the register. I honestly didn't like the wait in line and order since it's all at once unless you get back in line to order again. I understand the idea, but honestly, I would have reordered a drink if I didn't have to go back to the register.
After you pay, you grab your drinks, but you have to wait like at a coffee shop. It may take a while depending on the line or what you ordered. For instance, they made a cocktail for my wife, which was good but takes a little more time. It honestly would be great to be able to order from your table when you scan their QR codes for the menu and drinks, and just have your order attached to the table number that you're sitting at for a runner to bring it.
The food was actually some of the best brewery food we've had. I got the fish and chips from their Monday Bingo, and it was very good. Our friend loved their Chopped Cheese Burgers but didn't realize it came with a salad instead of fries, which they should ask at the register which one you'd prefer. It is not listed on the menu what side you'll get. My wife liked the hotdogs, but they were probably the most expensive we've ordered.
The beers were really good, too. I did a flight of their beers, and when you get it, they write the number on the flight board, so if you need to check which one you're drinking, check the menu and corresponding number. I took a photo of the beer menu at the register and used that as a reference. I know this is a lot of details, but there is an eclectic way of restaurant styles here.
Overall, we liked the food drinks and atmosphere, but the flow could definitely use some work in our opinion especially for the prices...

I gotta say, Dark Sky/Pizzicletta and the Beer Garden are both fantastic.
I’ve been coming here since the first week I moved to Flagstaff 3 years ago. I’ve been at the beer garden since it opened the following year.
I joined Mug Club as soon as I could (which is a fantastic deal if you’re a local, by the way). The staff, every single one of them, have always been wonderful. They treat me like family, and the feeling is mutual. Of course there are people coming and going, but they’ve all made an effort to know me and talk to me for all these years. The owners, Larami and Ryan are golden, as well as all the brewers and support staff. I couldn’t think of a better place to spend my money at in flagstaff.
The staff are hella trustworthy, knowledgeable, and are always looking out to make sure their patrons are taken care of and happy. I’d give a shoutout if I could to literally everyone, but Greg, Xander, Jaxon, Jakob, Ben, Bria….. yeah you get the point. Amazing folks.
You can taste what you want before you buy, and they always keep it interesting by rotating beers. The brewers have excellent chops and very rarely miss the mark. They also have great non-alcoholic options for those who don’t consume alcohol, and options for those who aren’t beerheads.
Atmosphere Kitchen is great! They always pump out quality food and if you have restrictions or needs, they’ll happily cater to them to make sure you’re happy. Never ever had an issue with the food, and at this point I’m not sure I will.
Thanks yall for being awesome and great friends! I highly recommend to hit up DSB. I’d give them a million stars if I...
Read moreUnfortunately, my experience here was extremely disappointing and frustrating. As someone visiting from out of state and also a bartender myself I was shocked by how I was treated by the staff. I presented a valid digital ID, which is an accepted form of identification in both my home state and by federal standards. Many establishments, including those in Arizona, are generally willing to accept these, especially as they become more common and secure. However, the staff here not only refused to accept it, but immediately ejected me from the premises without discussion even though I had additional tools (including a verification app and photo backup) to verify the ID’s authenticity. What made the situation more frustrating was that they had already served the rest of my group before even asking for my ID, and then singled me out. To make matters worse, I saw a child clearly under the age of 10 sitting in what is supposedly a 21+ establishment, playing on an iPad. That level of inconsistency and selective enforcement of rules is deeply troubling. My group ended up leaving quickly and even had to toss most of the beers we ordered, as they were honestly not enjoyable. Between the poor treatment, lack of professionalism, and questionable policy enforcement, we will not be returning to Dark Sky Brewing on future trips to Flagstaff and I wouldn’t recommend it to others either. If you claim to be a 21+ venue, enforce it consistently at the door not after service has begun. And in today’s world, refusing all forms of digital ID (without explanation or courtesy) feels not only outdated but unnecessarily discriminatory. We then proceed to leave a head over to Grand Canyon Brewing where they actually treat their customers...
