Shop has a wide selection with friendly staff. I haven't fully submerged myself into the metaphysical as of yet but was curious about seeing a medium. I came here on the suggestion of a coworker. Once there the woman behind the counter said the medium they had was the real deal and as good as the ones on TV but she just didn't care to market herself like that. I was excited and optimistic after such a recommendation.
The actual reading left something to be desired. I came in open, not with any specific questions in mind just curious who would come through. Immediately she sensed two grandparents and I tried to see what she could pull on her own, careful not to feed her answers or lead her to making certain connections I just had figured if someone was with me and they could communicate to her, it would come through.
She seemed immediately annoyed that I didn't have anyone specific in mind and asked me if I even knew what a medium was or if I had just watched Long Island Medium. I waited for her to mention what was coming through and then helped her to decipher what or who it might be. It was so off, that it lead me to believe she was making things up or just not in tune today. I really don't want to damage her craft but sharing for anyone else seeking a medium specifically, from this location. Without walking you through the 30 minute reading, here is a short list of what came through that has no base or relevance in my family history or deceased friends: She said my great grandmother wanted to know how my mom's back was doing. My mom has never had back trouble or pain. She said it could be coming through that my mom just slept wrong on it last night. Which seemed like an odd message to pass through even if that were the case. My mom later confirmed she has never had back pain or issues. She said a young woman was killed in a suicide but it might have looked like an accident. I responded that was odd because no female family members or friends had died under the age of 50 of any circumstance. She corrected and said well she knows me and not to he scared if I remember her later. My mom also confirmed that this didn't make sense. She said a lot of Civil War family history was coming through from Virginia. Neither side of my family was in America during the Civil War, both sides immigrated after. She asked what my grandfather's name was, as I began saying Conway she cut me off and finished with Conrad. My grandfather was not formally named Conrad and never went by Conrad, his occasional nickname was Connie. Never Conrad. She mentioned that the grandma coming through had an R in her name, which that one wouldn't. She was getting the name David and Robert. Neither name appear in my family. Perhaps she thought both were common enough and safe guesses. When I first arrived she thought the older woman coming through might be who I was named after and that the name had run in my family - I was named after my brother's babysitter. She said my grandmother on my dads side wanted my dad to know she didnt go to hell. My dad doesn't subscribe to religion and wouldn't have this question of my grandma but because I mentioned my dads family was raised catholic and my grandma committed suicide she probably thought it was a safe guess of a needed message. Claimed my paternal grandma owned her own business. My grandma on that side didnt work except for a small stint in a factory. She mentioned that a family member had been gender confused who showed no signs even after asking my mom since I might have been too young
There are more things that are off. Felt like she was just hoping to catch my reaction and correct. Because I tried to remain neutral and absorb she seemed all over the place. Just a heads up for anyone else, I would not recommend Roxy.
The only things that she got were: my great grandma came from a midwest farming background I got my height from my dad (I think it's rare that anyone would get their height from their mom?) my grandfather worked in law...
Read moreIf I could give a worse rating, I would. This is the most unfriendly business! My family and I came from out of town last Saturday to do a little shopping in the cute little town of Folsom. The parking there is very scarce, I understand that, but we were going to walk into a couple of the stores and spend some money. Upon entering the parking lot, this old man with a long white beard comes over to the driver's window shrugging his shoulders. I rolled down my window and asked "Can I help you?" he said "are you planning on shopping at our store?" I told him we were going to go in and see what they had, we are out of town people and planned on going to a couple places. He started waiving his arms and telling me that this was "customer parking only" because I guess he thought I did not have any money or something. We have a 2024 beautiful vehicle but, he thought we were white trash, apparently. He literally chased us out of the parking lot. So, needless to say, this is a most UNFRIENDLY business model! We will not be returning to their store EVER and spent our money at Fat Elephant Records. Very friendly...
Read moreThis store has such an amazing selection! I love wondering and discovering their many cases of items, it's a great place if looking for a small gift as you can find items for many different walks of spirituality and aesthetics. I purchased one of my favorite scarves here. Prices are fair to overpriced (the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars). They also offer readings throughout the week, I haven't tried this yet so I don't know what that experience is like though there are many different people who offer these services. I have taken the tribal belly dance class though, fun class held in the back room with a large mirror, however it is a tight space. Customer service is polite and helpful. I haven't spent much time talking with the ladies I often see there, but they have always been pleasant. Parking is a bit awkward, be very careful picking your spot and backing up, the lot next door is narrow and often close to full. If you have a long or large vehicle you may want to park on the street. Overall, I always enjoy visiting and its worth the drive out to Folsom...
