I enjoyed the trail but I think I'll do another next time. We hiked to Lily lake. There are some great views, and the ponds are pretty, but there are other hikes nearby that I enjoy more. It's pretty rocky in sections, and you can hear road noise for almost a mile up. There is a lot of parking and it was extremely busy when we were there. And to not be so negative, there is some really pretty areas. I enjoy hiking through pines and aspens with the rooty ground, and there were some areas like that up higher. There's a beautiful creek you get to see in some areas, and a great bridge crossing by beautiful little falls.

... go here as a somewhat serious day hiker or backpacker cause you have a long beautiful trail to enjoy and some sweet camping spots as you get further up :) Snow mounds taller than dwarves may still block more and more of the shady packed trail as you ascend so bring appropriate foot wear options if you wanna go the distance any earlier than July. For me part of the 5 stars was not seeing but one small group of people the entire time (the parking area may seem crowded but few seem to go more than a mile and if they do it's to lily lake ;)

Beautiful birch-filled trail with ample parking (usually) and lovely views. We went during Christmas weekend and thoroughly got a workout from the immediate incline—but still quite pleasant and not too difficult. Wear the right boots in winter (spikes recommended): I learned my lesson the hard way—was slipping and sliding on both my way up and down. (It's doable and you can get away with the right strategy, but it's difficult.) If you keep walking, you'll reach a fork, and one of the paths becomes the Lilypad Trail. Dogs allowed.
