The should be ashamed of what they are selling.
I have a unique trait; I like all the food, even if they are not so good. My tastebud helps me with this. Also, I prefer any Indian food over other food. Even than, I could not eat these. The chicken curry was made with half cooked gravy and raw chicken chunks. To avoid getting sick, I threw those near there store. This was a pick up (as they do not allow people to eat inside yet; maybe a Covid stuff. Not sure). I ate in my car in the parking lot and could have gone inside to argue with them, but that was not the battle worth the fight. I think, it is important to post my review instead.
Few observations: I flew from minnesota to Denver. So while driving to Steamboat, I thought, it would be good idea to order ahead to save time. When I called them to order Biriyani. The response came, “we do not have that thing”. A Indian restaurant owner will never say “that thing” to Biriyani. That suggests that, the person at the store does not have any idea of Indian food. Somehow, he got a hand on the ownership of this restaurant. Biriyani is in the menu, but they are just making easy stuff, by mixing few things without any knowledge. When they said, they do not have Biriyani, I asked anything for carb and chicken (I am running a Marathon tomorrow), so I ordered rice and chicken curry, as they understand that. They had only 6-7 raw chicken pieces. That should not cost $17. This is cheating and stealing.
If you ever feel, you can prefer Indian and try this, do not even think of this place. It is a waste of time, money and energy. Try Indian somewhere else. You will not get any other Indian restaurants...
Read moreLet me just say- they got new management, a new menu and wow is it quite the turn around for this restaurant. The food was amazing, the staff was so friendly, and the service was great. I got butter chicken curry with garlic naan. The curry had a wonderful creamy consistency, the meat was well cut/cooked, and Not gritty (a lot of places don’t use great chicken, or they put too much of it in the sauce and it’s not a good ratio) but theirs was tender, free of weird textures, and the perfect sauce to meat ratio. The naan was soft and crispy, perfect amount of butter and garlic.
I have been driving all the way from Breckenridge to Vail for Indian food, but not any more! I highly recommend anyone who loves Indian food to give this place a try! It will be my new go to spot and I’ll probably be in at least once a week. It is hard to find “great” food options in this county, especially for a good price ! I didn’t mind paying $30 for my curry, garlic naan and yummy mango Lassi.
I’m ecstatic that the new management has done such a good job revamping this place. I’m very impressed and hope to see them very successful.
The menu might seem small to some people right now, but let me tell you the quality speaks...
Read moreWe are from out of state and decided to give Himalayan Cuisine a shot, and it did not disappoint. A few things if you are headed there, the menu is deceiving as it doesn't mention any sides with the entrees nor that they sell beer and wine. The waiter also didn't mention they had beer and wine, but later the owner or manager came around and told us but by then we were in too deep with how much food we ordered to even consider drinking. We ordered two appetizers and the garlic naan thinking the lamb kabab would only be a simple kabab and we would need more food. Nope, the kabab was actually more of a lamb plate with vegetables and a large bowl of rice. The lamb could have been a little more tender for me personally, but the flavor was delicious! The garlic naan was perfectly crisped and flavored. The vegetable pakora was a whole meal on its own packed with beautiful spices and the perfect balance of potatoes and peas. Lastly, the big winner here were the Momo's. I have a weird thing with most dumpling textures, but when they said steamed to perfection they weren't lying. They were divine and I'm already googling where I can find some in Texas, praying they...
