Yes, to my welcome surprise there are dolphins in Galveston Bay. If you stand on the pier near where the tour departs you can spot them in the water already. Scheduling a trip online was super easy. The ticket location was a little confusing since we arrived very early, but you will need to pick up your ticket from the open kiosk in the mall area before heading to the docked boat.

This was a fun tour but you will have to temper your expectations if you've done dolphin or whale watching in open ocean in other places. The scenery is not as great and the water is murky, but I still had a lot of fun. We spotted a lot of dolphins and the captain was very entertaining and informative. Because the water isn't clear and the dolphins move very fast, this wasn't a good opportunity for photos, but you can still get decent videos. Everyone had a good time and you can easily move around the boat to get better views. Unfortunately one of the boat motors died halfway through the tour and we had to get an escort back from the Coast Guard, which is conveniently located right in the bay. Slight vibe killer but things still went pretty smoothly afterwards and we still had a complete trip. Overall...

Captain Adam was awesome! Anyone that gives this anything less than 5 stars simply cannot EVER BE PLEASED! We chose this company based off of other reviews and went with it on our family vacation and were so happy we did. We seen alot of dolphins swimming, playing, and jumping. Adam told us facts about the animals, the area, and the ships. We had three children with us on our family vacation and on the the way back to Kansas, I asked all of them what their favorite parts about the WHOLE trip was and all of them answered with the dolphin tour in their top three. Which is incredible because it was the cheapest. I told my wife, if I had to choose how to spend the trip in hindsight, I would of saved my money and bought tickets for Adam's boat for the whole day for our family, lol! It was nice and cool on the boat with a gentle relaxing breeze. Adam even let the kids hop up on the captain's chair next to him and help him steer, which the kid's loved.
