Reason why 2 stars:
*Went to get my early to mid 1800's wedding ring set appraised here. In 1982 it was appraised at well over $1,000 (will not say the original price).
*The gentleman who helped us out told us the wrong day it would be returned from appraisal. Also, the price of appraisal was not made clear. We showed him the two rings, and he said to my husband and me an appraisal would cost $150.00. When he rang it up the the price was over $300. The cost was supposed to be for each ring, and he did not make that clear at the start.
*When you walk in be warned - if you have a fragrance issue don't go here. My eyes itch and it's really hard to breathe when you walk in. The employees wear too much cologne and perfume.
*When I picked up the rings I walked in they did say 'welcome to Kay" then did nothing and I just stood there. I then said "I'm here to pick up". They lady looked at me like I should know what to do. She eventually said "go back there" and she pointing it out. Like I should have known where to go.
*I get into the car and the appraisal was less than it was in 1982!!! Really? Of course I have worn it, heck that was my great grandmother's that was passed down to me. Of course is going to be worn, but not that much. It's from the 1800's. It wasn't even chipped like the wedding band, and yet it's value is lower?
I understand I'm not a jeweler but I do understand from rings from the 1800's should be a lot more in 2025!
POSITIVE NOTE:
"Nuon (forgive me if I did not spell your name right) is a thoughtful person. She came outside, because I could have anaphylactic shock from all the perfumes and fragrances...
Read moreI will never purchase from the garner location again. I purchased a ring in the beginning of December, was told it would be back from being sized by the 28th. The day I was supposed to get it back I received a call saying the lady had sent them a ring too big to be sized to what I needed. So I had to drive back (30 minutes), reorder the ring in a smaller size, was in there over an hour while they tried to figure out how I’d get it for the same price since when I originally purchased it it was on sale, this day it wasn’t & it was their mistake. They seemed to be extremely annoyed having to fix what they could have avoided to begin with knowing the ring should have been ordered in the smallest size to begin with before being sent out to be sized. I was told when it came in I’d have to send it off for sizing .. when my husband went in to pick up something else he was told when it came in from being reordered it would already be sized to what I needed .. The ring came in today (2 days past the promised date) & it’s not sized. Now I have to make the drive back for the 3rd time to sign a paper for it to be sent out and sized and wait another two weeks. This is ridiculous and it seems like everyone I’ve spoken to has told me something different. No one seems to know what...
Read moreMe and my fiance came in to find wedding bands for our wedding. And the 2 women who were helping us one was an assistant manager and the other an employee were helping us. We found 2 very nice rings. And there was a sign outside the store saying the sale for wedding and engagement rings are 30% off and they told us that the sale ended. So why would you keep the sign on the front of the store? Then they pushed us and pushed us to open a credit we didnt want to open. Then they gave us 10% of as a courtesy that did nothing. So we went back today after a week to return the rings and the sign was still there. And the two girls were back again and they were disappointed we were returning the rings. Then we asked a different associate there how long the 30% off sale was still going on for and it's still going on till October. So the women who sold us our rings swindled us out of a sale that was still going on. We will never come back to this store ever again. Thank you for business but that was not nice of them to do. You dont swindle people out of money when there's a sale...
