Please give our Members at @Tru in Garner a wave and a follow 👋 This team is so welcoming and their hotel is clean, vibrant, and inviting. It was so cool seeing all of the local touches.. DO YOU SEE THAT MURAL?! So cool! This is a great option for meetings (they have a collaboration room!), for friends and family coming into town, for events in the area. I would say this is a lovely hotel, except for the room. Positives of this hotel. It has lovely staff, wonderful play area for kids and adults. I love the foosball, I love the area they had for kids with some play toys. a wonderful clean downstairs area, including, wonderful snack bar to purchase items for food. And a really nice lounge. The pool and gym are basic but very nice and accessible. The water and ice we're perfectly fine. Overall I would stay at this hotel again. Now it's time for the negatives to improve this hotel. We were on the fourth floor, when you have a choice to go down the hallway to the left or to the right we made a right, and we were the room all the way down at the end. On the right. When we first got into the room there was a smell. Mildew or mold. I had to rig the door open and turn on the air conditioning fan. To try to get the smell out. After letting it air out for the entire day with the door open. It dissipated to a more tolerable level. I believe there seems to be a mold issue in the bathroom. The wallpaper is bubbled up coming off the wall, different separation points in it. And I showed pictures of some of the issues. I believe behind that wallpaper is a giant thing of mold or mildew that has grown over time. That needs to be taken care of. Another thing is I cannot open the windows to bring in fresh air. Even a small window of some kind would be nice. We are at the end of a long hallway, there's no other way to get oxygen into the room. Having to leave the hotel door open for the entire day just to make sure I could get some oxygen in there. Im hoping staff from the hotel will see the photos, take out all that wallpaper, and remove all that black mold that's growing behind that wallpaper in the bathroom. 1 star removed for mold. The second star I'm going to remove is because of the menu. I do really appreciate those who make the breakfast, and food in the morning. Having options for everyone's diet is very nice. Unfortunately, I had to skip several days of breakfast because their options were not good. At hotels I normally grab two packets of yogurt, chobani, or whatever. with fruit in the yogurt. Some eggs, bacon, take it back to my room and relax before I start the day. Unfortunately here, this was not a good option. their food selection was pretty bad. The first day I tried their eggs, remind me of the really bad scrambled eggs I used to get in the military. Not the good galley food, but the on the field food. The eggs are flavorless, little bit runny, for scrambled eggs that's not good. Overall I could not eat them. The sausage they offered was basic, cheap. There is no offer for a potato, french fry, hash brown, diced potatoes, nothing at all. We had a choice of bad scrambled eggs and really cheap sausage. It was like this for the 5 days we were there. Only two of those five days did I get a different choice in egg. It was an omelette with some cheese and peppers. Very simple, very basic, but that was good. The only other thing that the sausage that they offered was chopped up hot dog. Which didn't taste great either. When I went to try to get yogurt, they had a yogurt machine. I did not see any fruit options for it. Only some dried cranberries and things like that. So at that point I could not even have a yogurt with some fruit. Things they need to change. Remove wallpaper, and mold behind it. For breakfast offer daily scrambled eggs, the omelettes, the sausage, add bacon would be wonderful to have. Did not see bacon once. some kind of diced or hashed potato is also something that would be necessary... If you're going to have a yogurt machine, make sure there's a vanilla and a plain option. With an assortment of strawberries, peaches, etc... this is why all the hotels normally just carry little chobani yogurt packets. It's easier and brings more options for guests. The final thing that needs fixed for sure is the screaming elevator. The thing scream so loud as it's grinding metal up and down. It should not be an operation. You could hear it down the hall. DANGEROUS.

I have never been so disappointed in a Hilton hotel. I was not recognized as an Honors member when I arrived and had to go back to the desk to inquire about bottled water that is usually given to members upon check-in. The staff was overall friendly (not all but most). Unfortunately, we experienced a significant issue with one of our rooms that needs to be resolved immediately. The first room we stayed in had an unpleasant smell that got significantly worse overnight. The wallpaper in the entire bathroom was noted to be peeling up around all of the edges. Upon closer inspection, we discovered that there was mold/mildew growing under the wallpaper in several areas, and the sheetrock beneath the wallpaper was soaking wet. This did not appear to be an issue with the shower, but looked like there was a leak coming from either the ceiling or the outside wall. It was clear that this is a longstanding issue that should have been corrected long ago. Mold/ mildew is a serious health hazard, and continuing to place guests in such a room is completely unacceptable. I was told that a manager would be notified about the issue but was never contacted by the manager. The lack of response from a manager makes me question if the issue will be ignored and guests will continue to be placed in the room. We were moved to a different room once we brought it to the attention of the front desk staff. Unfortunately, we were placed in a room directly next to the elevators, which were malfunctioning for the majority of our stay (video with sound included). The noise coming from the elevators when they were in use was incredibly loud, making it difficult to sleep. The only quiet time was when the elevator was out of service. We did not use the elevators for most of our stay because there was a genuine fear of being trapped inside.

I just checked out today and I will never stay there again. The story is long so brace yourself. We booked the room under a code for my cousin’s 50th birthday bc she had a hold on multiple rooms. I booked the room and was given a price and when I went online on Friday to confirm the info it was that same price. When we arrived and my husband checked in and the cost was $40 more and I did let the front desk lady know the price that was given to me when I booked. She asked to see the email and I showed her screen showing the info from Hilton.com she then told me it was $40 for taxes but I showed her from Hilton.com where the price that was given said taxes included. She told me that was wrong and then asked to see the email again and I showed her again. She then said again it was the taxes and I had to repeat myself yet again and told her it said taxes were already included. She then got the manager and she came and the lady gave her the rundown on everything and the manager asked me if I booked through a 3rd party and I say No I booked on Hilton website and offered the confirmation number bc at this point I’m frustrated. The manager said oh no we see everything here but it’s adding the taxes. I showed her the same thing I showed the front desk lady and she said oh I believe you I’ll just adjust the price. I get upstairs to my room and walk in and there is a mop in front of the door leaning on the wall. I put it in the hallway, and then I go to use the bathroom and there is cleaning spray on the sink so I put it in the hallway. I go to use the bathroom with the door open bc no one should be walking in and low and behold one of the cleaning people walks in and then says oh sorry I think they have yall in the wrong room bc this was supposed to be for one of the head people and there was a basket in there as well. She calls the front desk lady and told her she put us in the wrong room and she said just let us stay there. She closed the door and then comes right back and knocks and my husband answer and she tell him she need the basket. We give her the basket. 10 minutes later the manager comes upstairs because they told her that we were the same people that had the situation at check in and she came to ask if there was anything she could do to make our stay better and at this point just leaving me alone is all unless you trying to give me a night pay back but of course that can’t be done. The stay was fine, the rooms are small but it’s fine for two nights. We checked out this morning. We get home to see they charged us twice and when my husband called they said it was a smoking fee for $280 because the cleaning lady said she seen Tobacco in the room. My husband tells her we never smoked in the room the tobacco was in a bag in the trash. She called the cleaning lady and she said she never smelled smoke just only seen the tobacco in the trash so they called back to say they will put the money back but it will take 2 business days 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️ oh and took it out of the acct I booked with not the one I paid with smdh. NEVER WILL I EVER...

It’s Ms.“X”..I checked in Thursday night for 3 nights..Mindy and Youself was at the front desk and we met. I was is room 525 and I checked out Sunday. I’m in the process of moving right here still in Garner but the process is taking longer than usual. When I checked out Sunday morning Tina told me that since I was a Hilton member I could still come to the hotel if I needed to check emails, cup of coffee, clean bathroom while I’m still trying to secure my home and handle business affairs in peace. I thought that was super dope! This morning I was there to check emails and I changed my outfit bc it’s going to be super warm today and I asked Mindy if I could get a washcloth. I changed my clothes and asked Mindy where I could put the used washcloth. She told me in front of the laundry room. I’m not sure what I did wrong but when I went to get my phone off the charger to leave the hotel for the day the Assistant Manager Alga came to me asking me if I had a room there and what my business was at the hotel. She asked all these prying questions as if I committed a crime. I told her I checked out Sunday and to ask You if she had any questions hoping you would remember me being the GM and all. I was very proud to see a 26 yr old Latina as a GM..I also looked to Mindy to speak up for me and say “hey she is a Hilton member and she just checked out Sunday and is in the process of moving…since Mindy did know my Whole situation. I’m extremely upset and I WILL be taking further action because that was definitely racist! If I were a white woman she would not have allowed anyone come to and question about why they’re inside of the hotel. That was unacceptable! If you are not able to handle it Trust me I will. Tru Garner will have a bad reputation after this if this is not handled correctly from here on out. Update…3/13/25…Tru Garner continued the same energy when I came by this morning, but this morning I was actually stopping by to reserve 2 more nights because my place will be ready for move in on Saturday. As soon as I entered the hotel Mindy immediately shouted at me and said “Maria said you cannot be here.” It’s the complete same that after ALL this time and diversity of this state and being 2025 and BLACK people are STILL being told they’re not welcomed in Public places. Please someone plse tell me if hotels are on private...
