This was supposed to be for our 20 Anniversary and both our Birthdays as we were born on the same day and we got married on our Birthday. It was a very disappointing stay. The place looked like a run down old motel and was not maintained properly. I need a first floor room because I am handicapped. We had to call the manager as there was no one in the office to check in with. After speaking with the person who is the manager he said our room had a plumbing problem and they had to change our room so he gave us a room on the second floor. My husband told him I cannot walk up the steps that's why when he made our reservation he has said no steps. There is no elevator. So he gave us room 116. The place stunk and smelled like someone has vomited and urinated in the room. The bath tub was painted over, the floor was dirty, the wood trim was rotted and the floor where the bed was was peeling up. The sink was painted over, the faucet leaked all over the sink when you turned it on. The blow dryer was melted as if it had caught on fire. There was galvanized roofing metal on the walls and used to cover up the plumbing for the sink. The walls were covered with used wood pallet wood which had nails sticking out of the wood that was poorly placed and you could still see the cement block walls that were painted a light blue. The couch was a bright red with a tan blanket covering it and smelled awful. We stayed one night in the room as during the night there was a leak in the bathroom and when I went in there I slipped and had to grab the door to keep from falling. We complained so they offered to change our room in the morning to room 118. The good part is they didn't have bedbugs and they accepted dogs. My husband did see a bear across the street when he walked the dogs. There is NO grass to walk your dogs except for a small patch in front. The sheets are clean. The shower hand held shower broke so my husband had to cut the head off so I could finish my shower with the hose. The manager did replace the hand held shower the next morning very promptly. The keeper his name is Zee and he is very nice and helped us change the bedding when I spilled...
Read moreWe arrived to this location right at check-in time. We got the three bedroom suite and were traveling with four young children. We planned to stay for 2 nights and pain in full in advance. Upon entering the location, there were many rooms next door to ours that were being renovated. It was NOT disclosed prior that they were under construction. With young children, a construction site is not a location we would have been okay with.
Upon entering the room, we were greeted with almost darkness. It got worse from there. There were 2x4’s cut and nailed to the walls with finishing nails. More than a few of them were hanging from the walls. My five year old pulled one off the wall by tapping it with her hand, and came to show me the board covered in nails. There was also no heat and it’s under thirty degrees here. The floors were dirty. When pulling back the bedding, there was all kinds of fuzz and some small bugs. They didn’t look like bedbugs, I think maybe flees? The blankets were very thin and there were not enough pillows. There were two small space heaters that would have been fine for adults, but absolutely not safe for small children. When opening the door to the balcony, there were slats missing. All four of my children could have fit through the missing rails and fallen at any moment. There was NOT a higher lock on the doors to the patio, so we had no way to secure them. There was a metal strap bolted to the wall over the plug-in’s, I’m assuming so the plywood and 2x4’s don’t fall off the wall?
All in all, we stayed about 15 minutes. Long enough to decide that the price was not worth the risk.
If you want clean, and safe… look elsewhere and beware of...
Read moreMe and my boyfriend love coming to Gatlinburg and we've stayed here the last 3 times and loved it. This time was completely different, to start off since we usually love it we thought we would book the big room on the end this time and we did. Just for them to end up switching it, but no big deal we just thought it would be like one of the regular rooms we've had. With 0 updates that the place is under renovation they give us a room that's smaller than even the regular room like we've had before. The room they gave us looks nothingg like the picture, completely blank white walls with 2 couches, a big dresser, the bed, 2 nightstands, a table, and 4 damn lamps all in an extremely small space that the place looks abandoned yet superr cramped. Already with the room looking like a mental institution, there's a big window on every single wall but one. Already feeling unsafe I ask my boyfriend to make sure the windows are locked. THE WINDOWS HAD NO LOCKS and one window wasn't even closed. Having thinking you're going somewhere for a trip and staying in a nice room at least, if not bigger like the one you booked in the first place. Just to get a small cramped blank white walled room with no locks on the windows, let's just say we were upset but we still were understanding about the renovating. We messaged and asked for either a room switch or a partial refund, just for them to say we cannot switch rooms but we can have a 10% refund. We payed over $300 and got back $30. At least it's close to shops and stuff which is part of the reason why we used to love it so much, unfortunately that's the only thing it's got...
