The Gatlinburg SkyTrail offers a unique and relaxing way to enjoy breathtaking views of the Smoky Mountains without the challenge of a strenuous hike. This scenic walkway stretches about 1/3 of a mile, connecting the SkyDeck to the far side of the iconic SkyBridge, giving visitors a peaceful and accessible mountain experience. The trail is divided into three distinct sections: • Elevated Boardwalk: A wooden pathway with stunning views of the surrounding landscape and SkyBridge. • Tulip Tower: A 70-foot observation tower with multiple viewing platforms, accessible via hanging rope bridges — a fun and interactive highlight. • Pathway through Nature: A gentle hillside trail that brings you closer to the natural beauty of the mountain. Throughout the trail, you’ll find interpretive signs that share the area’s history, including the 2016 wildfires that impacted Gatlinburg. If you’re lucky, you might even spot local wildlife like black bears in the distance. To access the SkyTrail, visitors must ride the SkyLift from downtown Gatlinburg to the SkyPark. Admission includes access to the SkyLift, SkyBridge, and SkyTrail. In short, the Gatlinburg SkyTrail is a perfect outing for families or anyone looking for a calm, scenic walk with unforgettable mountain views

My wife wanted to try this out because she had heard the view was amazing even though she doesn't do well with heights. She was pleased with how smooth everything was and was able to enjoy the visit despite her fears. The view is amazing, the bridge is nice . The tulip tree is a nice addition as a tribute to the fires that burned through the area. There are trails that you can walk as well as a nice gift shop and restaurant. The person at the photo trap area was pretty rude when we told her we weren't interested in the photos, but that didn't overshadow the trip. While we were there, they shut the lift down and closed the bridge twice due to storms in the area, but it wasn't long before the storms passed and all was opened again. There are plenty of chairs and rockers around, and we just sat under the beautiful pavilion and watched the gentle rain while looking out over the smokies and Gatlinburg. It is a little on the expensive side for all-day tickets, but we rode the lift several times and overall enjoyed our visit.

Great views but it's a little scary if you're afraid of heights 😂 Got to the top of the mountain, walked across the cable bridge, relaxed a bit and was ready to go back down when they said the chairs were closed. Lightning was in the area and they had to wait 20 minutes after the last strike. People were asking how can they get off the mountain. The employee rudely stated that we needed to hike down the mountain (bears, cougars, boars) or call an Uber which he said would be expensive. I waited a bit and started walking towards the entrance of the hiking trail and saw people pointing. Went back to where the chair lifts were to see a bear was on the trail 😬😂. Waited in total for about an hour to get off the mountain and left Gatlinburg in a hurry. I was done after that. If you're going to go up the mountain, have a Plan B to get down.

SkyTrail: A Journey Through Breathtaking Vistas and Pure Enjoyment

Having just completed my adventure through SkyTrail, I can confidently say that this game delivers precisely what its name promises: an exhilarating trail through the sky, brimming with good fun and absolutely magnificent views. It’s a testament to thoughtful design, offering a refreshing and uplifting experience that truly stands out.

Views That Are Nothing Short of Spectacular:

From the very first moments, SkyTrail establishes itself as a visual masterpiece. The environments are simply stunning, featuring sprawling landscapes that stretch as far as the eye can see, punctuated by majestic floating islands, cascading waterfalls that seem to defy gravity, and vibrant, shifting cloud formations. The attention to detail in the natural elements is remarkable – the way sunlight filters through the mist, the subtle sway of airborne flora, and the distant, towering peaks all contribute to an overwhelming sense of awe.

The game excels at creating a sense of scale. Looking down from a high vantage point, the world below feels vast and alive, while looking up reveals endless skies and distant, intriguing landmasses. Each new area introduces a unique aesthetic, from serene, sun-drenched meadows to dramatic, storm-kissed canyons, ensuring that the "great views" are not just a static backdrop but an evolving, dynamic part of the journey. I often found myself pausing just to take in the scenery, a rare indulgence in today's fast-paced gaming landscape.

Gameplay: Engaging, Accessible, and Genuinely Fun:

Beyond its visual splendor, SkyTrail offers gameplay that is genuinely "good fun." The core loop involves navigating intricate pathways, often requiring a blend of careful traversal, light puzzle-solving, and exhilarating bursts of speed. The controls are intuitive and responsive, making the act of moving through the world a joy in itself. Whether you're gracefully gliding between platforms, using environmental elements to propel yourself forward, or discovering hidden shortcuts, every action feels fluid and rewarding.

The "fun" in SkyTrail comes from its accessibility combined with a satisfying level of challenge. It’s not overly punishing, allowing players to enjoy the journey without constant frustration, but it still provides ample opportunities to test your skills. The puzzles are cleverly designed, often relying on environmental interaction and observation rather than complex mechanics, which keeps the flow of the game smooth. There’s a delightful sense of discovery as you uncover new paths and secrets, making exploration a core part of the enjoyment. The pacing is excellent, introducing new mechanics and challenges just as you've mastered the previous ones, maintaining a fresh and engaging experience throughout.

A Refreshing and Uplifting Experience:

SkyTrail manages to evoke a feeling of pure escapism. The serene atmosphere, combined with the freedom of movement and the constant visual rewards, creates a truly uplifting experience. It’s the kind of game you can unwind with, losing yourself in its beautiful world and the simple pleasure of movement and discovery. The sense of accomplishment from traversing a particularly tricky section or reaching a new, breathtaking viewpoint is incredibly satisfying.

In Conclusion:

SkyTrail is an absolute gem for anyone seeking a game that prioritizes enjoyment and visual splendor. It effortlessly combines a genuinely fun gameplay loop with some of the most captivating environments I've seen in recent memory. If you're looking for an adventure that will lift your spirits and treat your eyes to unforgettable vistas, then SkyTrail is an absolute must-play. It's a journey well...

So, it had potential. Sure the views were great. But if you want to be treated like dirt by the employees, then by all means.. it wound up raining on our trip up the hill and we waited almost an hour until we decided to hike our young children back down the hill since everything was shut down. Once starting our hike we asked an employee who was stationed at the start of the trail which way to go. He was on a personal call but we were asking if we needed to go down the steps or continue on the trail and he BLATANTLY ignored us. We asked 3 times and then winged it. Luckily he answered my husband who was lagging behind, sexist maybe? To not answer three women carrying two babies? Anyway by the time we hiked carrying our children down we saw a parking lot and took a short cut bc at this point we were just DONE. Try carrying two 30lb babies down the mountain and then tell me how you feel after. Well at the bottom of our “short cut” the employee was SCREAMING at us that we need to follow the trail and literally used the F word saying that wasn’t the FN trail for a reason. There was no way I was going back up the hill of wet grass with my children so we continued on and ignored his SCREAMS. All that and we got a voucher that is good for a year. Not like it’s worth anything since we will NEVEE RETURN. pretty unfortunate too bc the place had so much potential. Get better employees...
