Alright, buckle up, kiddos! Let me tell you about the grand ol' time we had at Arcadia Arcade in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It's like stepping into a neon-lit treasure chest where the loot is fun and the booty is a boatload of tickets!
First off, this place is nestled right under the Gatlinburg Space Needle, which means you're already in the heart of the action. And beside it? Slice Pizza Bakery, because nothing works up an appetite like a fierce round of skee-ball. Now, let's talk games. They've got the classics, the newfangled contraptions, and everything in between. It's like they raided every arcade in the country and brought the spoils here!
The kids dove straight for the Wizard of Oz game – they've got a thing for collecting those red slippers. Me? I'm more of a whack-a-mole maestro. But let me tell you, the real jackpot is the Redemption Prize Center. It's like Christmas morning but every day, and you're Santa with a pocket full of tickets. We're talking prizes from cuddly stuffed animals to gadgets that'd make James Bond jealous.
Now, a corny dad review wouldn't be complete without a dad joke, so here it is: Why don't skeletons fight each other? They don't have the guts! Ha! But you know who does? Arcadia Arcade. They've got the guts to host a huge arcade that keeps the whole family entertained for hours.
The staff? Friendlier than a neighbor with a pie. The atmosphere? More electric than my old lawn mower on a rainy day. And the fun? Well, it's like a bottomless cup of your favorite soda – it just keeps on giving.
Arcadia Arcade is a high-score haven for families. It's a place where you can let loose, rack up points, and leave with more memories than tickets – and trust me, you'll leave with a lot of tickets. So, if you're in Gatlinburg and looking for a good time, swing by Arcadia. Tell 'em...
Read moreI don't understand all the great reviews. We expected this place to be so great and wanted to play some claw games here more than other arcades in the area. ALL the machines had the prizes ( which were not anything branded or nice...but you could "trade in" any prizes won at redemption center.) very tightly packed and NONE laying on top that even gave you a shot to win! The claws were very 'limp' and clearly set at high payouts! Each game took a LOT of credits and we didn't get much for our $75, despite the guy at front register saying we'd get "like 35 plays" for our $50 card! I don't believe we got anything close to that. In fact, we won just 3 unbranded, cheap stuffies that we tried to trade in for something our daughter wanted. The redemption center has RIDICULOUSLY high point prices on even cheap dollar store type things! We looked at the plushies hanging from ceiling and she saw one she'd like for the 1,500 points we had for the 3 plushies we'd won. It said 1,200 points right by the plushie. The girl had to go and get it down for us and wasn't very friendly. She got it down and then when she checked it back at redemption desk, said it was 2100 credits! We stated that the sign next to it said 1,200 credits and after a brief conversation, she let our daughter have it for the value of her 3 plushies. We spent $70 in total for one small, unbranded prize. I think she realized when she scanned our card that we'd spent a LOT! This the only reason for the 2nd star in my review. We play claw games a lot and are pretty good at them, but this place was a huge RIP OFF! It was CRAZY noisy inside, too. Very loud music that made it hard to talk at all. Wanted to love this place and have fun...and we did...
Read moreThe arcade games were great..a huge variety. At one point, one of the games stopped working and a manager came over to fix it. No big deal. Then, when we were adding the cards we won to our account, the machine wouldn't take three of our cards so we had to find the same manager again. A little annoying, but again these things happen that can't always be helped. She fixed the machine promptly. After we scanned our card the machine showed that we had 2,739 tickets to spend. We took our card to the young blond girl at the prize counter and she confirmed 2, 739. We got two things. She told us that a ball we wanted was 310. After she scanned it, it was actually 460. Okay, fine. We let it go. Then we got an item that was 2,000. The total was 2,460. She told us to have a nice day and sent us on our way. I told her that we still have almost 300 tickets left to spend. She said, "The card says it's cleared out. Sorry". I tried again to explain to her that we saw that there was 2,739 originally and we still have tickets to use. She's like, "I don't know what to tell you" and began ringing out the next person. She was so dismissive. We spent a lot of money in there for that small amount of tickets. We walked 5 feet down to the other guy that was there and told him the situation. He was like, "The computer doesn't lie". I told him I understood but re-explained the situation again. Without any trouble, he added 350 tickets to our card and kindly continued helping us with prizes. I thanked him and we left. As we were walking away, I saw the girl go over to him and start talking about us. It just left a bad taste when we were just trying to get what...
