Very Disappointed Need to train Hostess on Service Animals
We wanted to stop and watch the Tennessee game. I have a service dog so we told the hostess and were directed to sit outside and she said they don’t allow dogs inside. Well, technically you have to let a service dog but I’m not going to argue the law with a young hostess that prob doesn’t know. I could’ve asked for a manager but I was tired and just wanted to sit and eat. Plus I noticed most of the tables were high tops so I didn’t press the issue. I would prefer to sit at a lower top table with him anyway, I didn’t see low top tables available until I got outside and noticed some along the windows. Oh well, No biggie. I However, I didn’t realize once you sit outside you become your own waitress. We were told we had to order inside, again no big deal. But I didn’t know that we had to also bring out our own drinks and food. I put in my order in at the bar and she didn’t tell me to wait or anything just walked off and started getting beers for other people so I walked off. A few minutes later she came out with a tray of drinks and said she’s not allowed to come outside and that I had to come inside to get my food when the buzzer went off. Then she just left the tray of drinks and went back We had a large family so it was going to be a lot for us to come in and grab our food. Most places have outdoor dining you still get a waitress or at least they bring your food and drinks out. Ok just a little inconvenience but it’ll be ok. Then it started raining, great. So my husband went in to talk to the manager. He said of course we were allowed in with a service dog. Ok I should’ve just asked for him to begin with, my fault but agin tired and hungry and didn’t want to be a pain in the butt. He then took us to a table, our food was ready at the bar by that point. So we still had to go get it ourselves. The pizza plate was very hot, my husband burned his fingers so he asked for a tray or something to help carry it and she just gave him a napkin. The manager came and checked on us once. We thought by now sitting inside we would have someone at least get us refills and check on us with our food. Nope. We had to go back to the bar to ask for our own refills and boxes. Just very disappointing the service we received. I just wanted to have a nice family meal and watch the game. For $140 the food was very disappointing as well. Very mediocre overpriced bar food. It’s great for those who just want apps and drinks during a game but I won’t be back. We come to Gatlinburg every month because we have a condo down here so we’ve eaten just about everything and every where. This is by far the worst...
Read morePuckers Sports Grill in Gatlinburg, TN, has the potential to be a fantastic sports bar, and my first impression certainly pointed in that direction. With numerous televisions and a massive screen for major sports, it feels like a haven for sports enthusiasts. The full bar and impressive beer selection are definitely highlights.
I ordered the buffalo wings, Juicy Lucy burger, buffalo chicken pizza, and salads. Unfortunately, the wings were just average, and I found the portion sizes of 6 or 12 pieces somewhat limited. The Juicy Lucy burger was an interesting combination of a smash burger and cheesesteak, which stood out, but my experience with both the wings and burger was simply average.
The buffalo chicken pizza was decent, but it felt like there was more crust than actual toppings, leaving me wanting more substance. The salads were also less than average; the Caesar salad came with the dressing on the side for you to mix yourself, which felt a bit off, and the house salad had more lettuce than toppings, which was disappointing.
On the plus side, the atmosphere was a strong point, with plenty of televisions, a dartboard, pool table, and other games, creating a lively vibe perfect for a Friday night. The small stage for live music added to the overall ambiance.
I did find it curious that staff were selling jello shots and roses separately; the roses felt a bit out of place for a sports bar. My visit was busy, and they had run out of Modelo for their bucket special, which was disappointing. While they do accept Apple Pay and Google Pay at the table, the staff seemed overwhelmed. A more team-oriented approach to service would go a long way in ensuring that customers feel valued and appreciated.
Additionally, the presence of uniformed security gave me pause; while safety is important, it can also create an uncomfortable atmosphere in a sports bar where guests want to relax and enjoy themselves.
I’ll likely return for March Madness, hoping for a better experience next time. There’s potential here; I just hope they can refine their service...
Read moreFood and restaurant etc etc etc was awesome. Would have gave 5 stars but I watched a pool tournament and being a part time traveling pool player and owning a pool hall myself... this was the most trailer park tournament I've ever seen lol. The only thing that was cool about it was double elimination.
Idk if they even know what ball in hand rule even means for tournament rules. Then the sets that they were playing... were only 1 game per set..... nobody with any experience or sense at all is gonna play a tournament that is one game per set lol. I've been playing for almost 40 years and it always no less than best 3 outta 5 or race to 5 to win the set.. If I make a ball on break and have a shot, it's over. The other person is prolly not gonna get to shoot and if they do, it will be after I play a safety. Which is not fair to the other person. They don't even have a chance. The big guy (I think the owner) was mouthing another skinny dude saying "well you shouldn't have missed" which is fine... but if someone like myself gets a shot after break, the other person never has a chance. That's why tournaments are always best 3/5 or race to 5 and alternate breaks. That way everyone has equal chance. Idk, I guess I'm just ranting and this is just a tourist bar that isn't anything official.... but I'm not tryn to be a smartass either... if you wanna draw more people in and have some good tournaments, you need to play more games per set, keep the double elimination, and que ball at hand is a tournament rule in most places but that's not a big deal I guess.
I travel to the area a lot and it would actually be nice to find a good tournament here. I love the location and love that Puckers is BACK!!!!
EVERYTHING ELSE 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
