We stayed 4 nights in a room with 2 queen beds. During check in I was asked to give a $100 cash deposit due to me being under 21. A deposit is understandable, however I did not see this anywhere on their website or listings. Luckily one of us had cash, but the surprise cash requirement should be posted to avoid complications. We did receive this deposit back with no issues at the end of our stay. Immediately upon walking into the room, we were hit with a musty pool smell. Whenever we were in the room, we had the balcony door cracked to try to release this odor. As I was checking for any bugs in the bed as I do at every hotel, we noticed brown stains on both sets of sheets on the beds. Bugs however, didn’t seem to be an issue. Walking around the room we noticed red droplets near the trash can and near the sink. Hoping this isn’t blood, we think it was some sort of candy liquid. When sitting on the toilet you will notice it is not properly attached to the floor as it rocks. The most notable issue of our stay however was with mold. In the bathroom, there was some mold on the top of the shower, and scattered around the bathroom. No matter how short our showers were, the room was filled with condensation covering all of our products, the door, the sink, etc. after the first person was done. Despite having the two bathroom fans on, this lack of air circulation explains the mold. Additionally, the shower curtain was too small so there was water going onto the floor no matter how you positioned it. Two days into our stay I developed a horrible sore throat, this caused us to stop using the AC in the room and just sleep with the balcony door cracked as the air in the room seemed to be causing issues. I understand it is possible to contact the front desk about these issues, but while I did not have any rude experiences with staff, they were largely disinterested. I asked once for conditioner during our stay as there was only shampoo and lotion in our room when we arrived, and the front desk attendant said she would have the housekeeper bring some up in the morning, which we received none. When so many customers have the same issues, these issues should be solved way before many other have to complain to the front desk about them. I do not think it is fair to call this a renovated room, as there are clearly still many issues. Overall, we were excited to leave this hotel. The prices were incredibly low and the location is unbeatable, but I truly think there are better uses of your money than a hotel...

You're mere feet from the main road and only a half a block from starbucks and within walking distance to literally everything. We were able to park our car and didnt have to move it for two whole days because we were able to walk everywhere (and I say this as a plus size woman who has some mobility issues.) Moving on to the actual room. We got a newly renovated double queen bed room. It was gorgeous. Very clean and light feeling. There was a slight smell of cleaning products but I didn't mind that at all. The beds were by far the best beds I have ever slept on. I was actually going to ask the front desk what brand they were so I could purchase one myself and forgot in the rush to leave on Memorial Day. I slept SO good on that bed. The bathroom was very nice ( although the toilet was not anchored fully to the ground and wobbled, prob something just overlooked by accident). The water pressure was great and the water got very hot very quick. They provided lots of towels and even dropped extras off the 2nd day we were there. House keeping was very kind and sweet and made sure our rooms were clean every day and took out the trash for us. She even remade our bed with fresh sheets. The front desk attendant (I'm not sure if she was the owner or not but it was an older woman) was SO helpful. She knew where everything was and made several great recommendations. She also ensured us that someone was watching security cameras at all times to make sure we were safe and sound being so close to downtown.
Now the cons: as others have mentioned, there is no view. This is because it's surrounded by several tall buildings. We were on the second floor and our view was a concrete wall. There was still a little balcony with two chairs and a little table which was very nice. I was okay with sacrificing a view for being able to walk literally anywhere. The elevator is pretty old and was very slow. I spent quite a bit of time just waiting around for it. Again, not a huge deal for us.
Overall my boyfriend and I were extremely pleased with this hotel. We had a wonderful time in Gatlinburg and this hotel was a major contributor to that as we didn't have to deal with parking issues and we felt safe the...
Read moreI am in room 302 as I write this stealing WIFI from next door. I have been here for 3 days. I have not been able to get to use the WIFI. I spoke with the 'front desk' 2 twice about this. Unbelievably, I listened to them say this to me: Have you tried using it in the hallway? What??? During the second call they said 'we will have maintenance look at this when they come in'. Ok... what time do they come in? to which they responded, 'I don't know'. The big lighted sign out front clearly says FREE WIFI. I assume the cost of that is included in the price of my room. There's more.. In the bathroom this morning the strangest bug I have ever seen darted out from behind the door and across my foot. If you can see bugs like this in the daylight, I can assure you that you do not want to see what bug activity happens when the lights are out. Maid service left trash in my room for 2 days, but came today and took my business receipts off the desk where they were laying with the extra key. Why? There is no one in the office through the night, I have no idea who monitors safety or anything after dark. I guess that it's every guest for himself. Your call to the front desk is transferred to an identified location and you can talk to a pretty disinterested employee (like your lack of wifi for example). This hotel is just creepy and nasty. I think an elevator ride here is a crap shoot so I take the stairs. If you're stuck in the elevator after dark, who do suppose will help you? I understand dated, old and advertising being the cheapest place to stay downtown, but this place redefines all of that. It's location is very good for my business purpose or I'd pack it up. I WOULD NOT under any circumstance bring my family here, I don't care if it was FREE Apparently, I'm told, the Reagans as in Reagan Resorts Inn are kinda of a big deal here in Gatlinburg. If I owned, and operated a hotel in this shabby manner, I'd change my name. Does not deserve the one start I had to give it to get this information posted! OWNERS/STAFF obviously write reviews of more...
