Within walking distance to downtown attractions. Otherwise inconvenient location, parking and lot layout. Parking is a disaster. Walk in and be greeted with a big slap in the face of strong sun tan lotion and floral scented deodorizers masking the scent of black mold... wonderful, already off to a great start. Check-in was unnecessarily drawn out, staff is disoriented and odd. We get onto the elevator which we notice has severe water damage on the linoleum flooring. Very loud sounds of rushing water from under the elevator? Lovely.
Got to our floor and again greeted by pungent scents of mildew, black mold and strong deodorizers. Beds, hard as rocks. I’ll admit, the attempted remodeled rooms had nice furniture and decor but you can’t hide very apparent years of severe water damage throughout the building by throwing down carpet and a fresh coat of paint. My siblings and I left the balcony door wide open every time we were out in a desperate attempt to somewhat air out the room. Breathing while in this building felt unsafe. Strange scratch marks on ceiling and smears of an unknown brown substance on walls in bathroom. Weak water pressure shower, weird flushing device in toilet, and barn style sliding door with hard to use lock and large gaps which allows for everything in the bathroom to be heard by everyone. Fantastic.
We decide to go into the basement to check out the pool in hopes for a good time. I typically base my entire booking on the pool the hotel offers as I enjoy daily swims during vacation trips. The pictures advertised made it look very open, clean and on-theme to the mountainous region with a lovely stone wall in the corner. Images posted in ad appears to be an all glass heated pool room with views to outside. Did not realize it was in the basement. Was looking forward to seeing the sun through the large windows while swimming... The pool was not at all what was advertised. I was truly and utterly disgusted with everything I walked into from floor to ceiling. Once off the elevator you walk into what looks like the interior walls of a federal prison with a large industrial sized rolling basket full of nasty, stained stinking, rotting towels in the corner (when I came back to take photos of the state of the pool, the basket was gone) The odor is overwhelming. Black mold and mildew line the walls and corners at every angle. The pool room is a dim lit, warm, dank, dungeon with murky, lint and debris filled water in the most unkept pool I’ve ever seen. Every inch of the floor is covered in VERY APPARENT BLACK MOLD. I can not stress this enough. Black mold is extremely dangerous and toxic. I couldn’t begin to fathom the amount of mold I was seeing and smelling. The windows have been covered with some type of window tint stickers which block most outside light. Rust covering the entire exterior facing door. Ceiling leaking. Huge tube going through the room, which I’m assuming is a heater, AC unit or dehumidifier, which either way was clearly not functioning properly. The corner rock wall has been removed exposing mildew and black mold lining the floor and into the wall corner. Needless to say we ran out of there and didn’t look back. We opted out of swimming, but saw quite a few parents and their children (walking barefoot through the mold infested halls) going to and from the basement during our stay which seriously makes me question the parenting of locals and those of the surrounding areas. Absolutely terrible.
They are not serving breakfast due to Covid-19 regulations, which is understandable. They do offer complimentary Coffee, Tea, and Hot Cocoa 24 hours a day in the lobby area which was actually nice after being outside in the cold. All in all, do not come here unless you want black mold entering your lungs and your children to catch syphalis and scurvy from poisoned, tainted pool water.
Disgusting. Repulsive. Stinky. Dirty. Dank....

We've stayed here every year for 6 years and it's gone downhill. This visit we used points for a studio room and we weren't informed that the studios are right by the elevator no matter which one you get, and none of them have balconies. Not a fan of being by the noisy elevator, but it's not like we're in the room a ton anyways. Major points deducted because of the cleanliness and the bug that we saw. There was a cockroach on the ceiling and came down onto the wall and we killed it before it went behind the picture frame on the wall. There was dried hard Grey stuff on the side of the fitted bedsheet, and black spots on the curtains at the window. The bathroom grout, corners and walls were dirty and the fan was layered with dust. Before we settled in we wiped down everything with clorox wipes and the lamps were dusty and the desk had foundation/makeup all over it. Not sure if we will continue to stay here for our yearly trips as the place just seems to get more run down with time and no upgrades or upkeep has been done.
Review from 6years ago: This is my second stay here. Impressed with the modern touches and nice rooms. Beds are comfy four pillows on each bed. One desk, one chair, one fridge and a coffee pot. Tv was a nice size between the two beds. Close to the strip, but far enough away from the noisy street. Keep your eyes open when trying to find it, it's easy to miss. Will say, I put a protein shake and fruit in the fridge, and the next day they were frozen solid. The "workout center" is a tiny room with an elliptical, treadmill and a Bowflex type workout bench squeezed together. On Friday night we returned from shopping to a full parking lot and no place to even turn around as there was a large truck blocking the rest of the parking lot. Had to back out in a circle and go inside to figure out what to do. We had to park down the road in a different parking lot and walk. Also, another con, the cool trendy bathroom slide door doesn't latch very well and doesn't leave much privacy for the user. Overall, clean & up to date place that's not to high on price. Would...
Read moreI am never being a customer at Country Inn Suites or any other hotel owned by Radisson.
I was traveling with my family to Smoky Mountains for leisure from north. We stopped in GatIingburg for a quick lunch. The parking was hard to find and it was offered for a one-time fee of $20 irrespective of number of hours parked. I found an empty private parking lot which was an overflow lot for Country Inn Suites. I parked there and we went for lunch. When we came back, the car was not there. I understood that it was towed away by Rowe and McKinney towing company. I called the towing company. The car was towed away to a location 45mins away. I was told that the fee to retrieve the car would be $450 which I thought was completely ridiculous. $350 as a flat towing charge and $100 as after hours fee. The time was approx 4pm on Saturday. The additional after hours fee was not fair. Their website says they can tow cars 24x7. So, they pick up cars anytime anyday but won't give it back on weekends. They said that they won't accept credit card as mode of payment because people may dispute the charge after retrieving the car. I agreed to pay because we did not have any accommodation in Gatlinburg or mode or transport. The representative from towing company was showing as if they were being helpful but they were rude at times. Their words were somewhat on the lines, 'you have to work as I say if you want to retrieve your car because we are trying to help you after hours'. I was using a civil tone all the time. It took us approximately 2 hours to arrange cash and transportation. I reach the pickup location, paid the fine and retrieved the car. The pickup location does neither show up as Rowe and McKinney towing company location on Maps nor is the address stated on the payment receipt. Overall, I thought we had to go through a lot of hassle and pay a huge sum for a...
