We happened to find Mountain Heritage Inn while driving around town looking for a place to stay the first time we visited Gatlinburg, soon after we moved to East Tennessee in 1994. The lobby had a nice, homey feel and the lady who greeted us was very polite and helpful. Our room was very clean, although the place is older, it had been maintained very well. We chose an upstairs room facing the the pool and cabins. You had a limited but nice view of the mountains. It was quiet, and the price was very reasonable. It was i believe one or two short blocks off of the main street in town, there was plenty of parking and a lot of the restaurants and attractions were within walking distance. We have stayed there probably 10 times, maybe more. We have only stayed overnight at two or three other places, which were okay, but i cannot recall the names. one had an upstairs room with big windows and a hot tub in the room, the other was, i believe, a days inn Oh, and another motel where the room was set down a bit below ground. it was very near the Alamo Restaurant. We took many day trips to Gatlinburg, and other areas in the Great Smoky mountains. We also camped at the Riverview Campground in Townsend, which sadly, has since closed down. We stayed in Pigeon Forge once and in Sevierville once, but the names of the motels escape me. IT was probably 15 years ago, at least. The last time we stayed in Gatlinburg was probably 7 years ago, or so. We had to move out of state. We live in Virginia, so we are not too far away. Circumstances prevent us from traveling, but we hope to visit in the future. I hope that if and when we do, the Mountain Heritage Inn is still there, and still as wonderful as...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I booked this back in June. There's not alot of reviews on this place. We went in with we want a clean place to stay that was reasonable! Boy did this place deliver! We were there over Thanksgiving and Gatlinburg was CRAZY with traffic! We were so very grateful to have a place to reset our heads, park our car for FREE and be able to walk!|It was a little odd to send a check for a deposit but the motel is old school paper. They do take card for payment at check in! |The outside looks a little on the rundown side.|We had a king room, with jacuzzi tub and fireplace. We never sat on our patio but it faces River Rd. We enjoyed the fireplace, jacuzzi tub and heat lamp in the bathroom.|Each day we had our bed made and fresh towels.|This place is old school and you get a physical room key. |The area is fairly quiet. You do hear road noise. No breakfast but there's many restaurants within walking distance. No need for that. There is a fridge in the room. There is a odd smell but the place has been around. Bring air freshener and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI stay here at Mountain Heritage Inn any time I want to bring along my 2 dogs. Located just behind the downtown Gatlinburg strip. It's only a 2 minute walk between neighbouring hotels, to be on the downtown strip. Also, it's much quieter inside your room, or bungalow suits. The prices are very reasonable. There is easy to use parking no matter what room you choose. The rooms are just a basic double bed style. Large, open double sinks with giant mirror next to the bathroom. Free standard cable TV. I've viewed the bungalow suits. But never actually rented one of them. They are round in shape. And have a kitchenette and Jacuzzi. Very neat looking from the inside and out. Pets are welcome inside the rooms. A small deposit is required. But refunded upon checking out, (providing no damage). The rooms are a bit out dated. And they still have the older tube TV'S. Some children may not enjoy staying here due to these reasons. If your looking to get a decent room at a low cost on the...
