Let me tell you what, the bad reviews on this store are simply untrue to say the least. I am ecstatic with this store. They are honest, proud, and hard working people. My wife told me to post a review on google for them because they are superb, honest and go out of their way to make you happy. Not many small businesses do that. Reading some of the negative reviews, I can only laugh to myself. I am a veteran, retired police chief, pastor, and small business owner myself. People on here saying they are being swindled are either ignorant to the actual facts or dog gonnet, do not understand that honest mistakes happen. Yes folks, there is such things as honest mistakes. Let me tell you about my 3 very incredible experiences.
This is my first review of anything ever. My wife, bless her heart, showed me how to get on to the site here. I chose to write this review because I had a great experience on many occasions here. I brought my tablet in that I use for work and it was not charging or turning on back in January. I also brought in my phone in March because it was not turning on. Today I brought in my phone again because it would not charge all the time and it was dropped in water.
Let me tell you that back in January with my tablet, they took it in back and before I knew it they came to me in the waiting room to say it was working. I was surprised it was so quick and to my delight, they did not charge me! I spoke to Mark on the phone and Adam in store that day. They both said they would like my future business if I break something and there is no charge. Adam said all Mark did was take out the battery, check the voltage, and put it back in. They could have charged me to look at it, for their time, but chose to be honest and actually want me to come back. The second time in with my phone not turning on, the same thing! No charge! I spoke to Shirlee this time over the phone and she said it was just a pin bent in the charging port. She said she bent it back, cleaned it out and it works! At this point I feel bad for them doing all this work and not charging me. I ran over to the sporting goods store and when I came in to pick up my phone, it was 100% charged and worked like a dream! I spoke to Donald this time at the counter and he said the same thing, I would rather have your future business than charge for something that can be easily fixed. That brings me to today. I walk in and a new fellow I never seen before was at the desk. I didn't catch his name. I told him my phone dropped in water and before that it was not reliably charging. He brought it in back for a little bit, I sat down, and he came out a little while later and my phone is on and working.
I am shocked to say the least. He said he opened it up, blew out some moisture and plugged it in. It turned on! Once again they did not charge me! I am elated. How do they make any money? To find a business that is honest, fast and has stand up management, well that is just hard to find. It is small business that really care I'll tell you what. I have been around to many business in my old age where they just dont care about you unless you pay them. There are places out there who would make something up just to charge you so they make a quick nickel. This place cares I can tell you what.
I am an old fashioned guy that likes a stand up business. I hate technology but am forced to use this darn phone and tablet, now I am on a computer writing a review (with the help of my wife). Mark, Shirlee, Adam, the fellow I never seen before and the entire store staff THANK YOU! My VFW and local union have heard about you because they always say Rob what did you do to your phone now. I tell them I went to ubreakifix again and they fixed it for free again! One day I will really break my phone and I expect to be charged double. I hope you all are proud because I am proud of you. Keep up the...
Read moreFirst of all, I want to express that the man at the Geneva Commons uBreakiFix was polite, helpful, and professional, and I want to thank him for showing care to a less than satisfied customer.
I went into uBreakiFix today to get my iPhone’s charging port cleaned from lint. In the past, I know uBreakiFix used to offer this service for free— Whenever I would use it, employees would typically have my phone cleaned in 5 minutes.
I was not surprised that there was a fee associated with this service now, but I was surprised that the fee is $30! I told the cashier that I found this price too steep and would choose not to have my phone cleaned by uBreakiFix. I could justify a much lower rate, but going from a free service to $30 is completely unreasonable.
I had also asked if there were any lightning port chargers available at the Geneva store. I purchased one that was recommended to me, and was told it worked very well.
More disappointment came when I plugged it into my car, and my phone would not charge. When I got home, I tested it in our usual charging outlet as well. Still no charge. My older apple brand charger will charge my phone, though (photos attached).
Now, perhaps the uBreakiFix charger that was recommended to me would charge my phone if the charging port were cleaned out, however it seems unreasonable that I would have to pay a $30 cleaning fee on top of the $25 for a new charger in order to get my phone to charge properly. I will be going in for a refund later this week.
I realize that this $30 cleaning policy is out of every day employees’ control, but had it not been in place, I would have left uBreakiFix much more satisfied and willing to recommend...
Read moreAbsolute joke of a business they run here. Where do I begin?? Well, it started with misinformation with an employee who claimed he did not even want to be at work that day, towards the end of his shift; he goes ahead to write false information about my device that I brought in and assures me that the repair on my device (Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra) would be ready to pick-up on the following business day.. I arrive the next day at the scheduled pick-up time (as I did not receive a call from the store prior), and to my amazement, after about 30-35 minutes of waiting to retrieve my "repaired" device, I was told by Michael (the manager) that the part required to repair my phone would not arrive to their location until Friday-Monday. After expressing some frustration when alerted of this news, the manager then asked if I would like the phone back, and handle the matter with Samsung. With that, I decided to do just that and send it to the service center under Samsung's provision. After hearing the quote from Samsung, they stated that the phone was unexpectedly out of warranty (after being operated for only a month) due to "liquidation/physical" damages; upon receiving the phone I declined repairs on (due to the nature of such "damage"), I discover that there were no physical signs of what they were claiming. It was rather strange that when I was informed by uBreakiFix that the issue with my phone was a motherboard defect, I somehow then encountered liquidation damage as Samsung service representatives were describing. I would personally never revisit this location, and would highly advise others to not go...
