We’ve come to this outdoor mall a few times. Several stores have provided great, even stellar experiences. However, Banana Republic has been mediocre at best. Today’s experience warrants a review as I’m guessing the mall as a whole does not condone these sorts of experiences.
Store doors were locked at 7:15pm even though hours were showing open (it may have been locked beforehand but that’s when we arrived). Website and Google Maps hours says 8pm. The hours posted on the window said 8pm. We also called to confirm the store’s hours (and confirmed it was 8pm). There was no signage stating why they were closed. There was an employee in the back, he did not come to the door although he did see us. We tried calling the store while there, he did not answer. We specifically ran out tonight to run this errand so this was pretty frustrating. Banana Republic’s service experience has significantly deteriorated over the past year so this seems par for the course at this point. But honestly who wants to walk around the mall that is not only divided by a major street (poplar) but also has a parking lot in the middle of all the stores. I want to be able to walk from anthropologie to the Apple store to crumbl. But I feel like I have to drive to all those places when they're so close together just because of safety concerns with all the traffic.
Who is designing these malls in Memphis metro?
Seriously though, is it because you don't want people hanging out and actually walking around malls? Like the wolfchase mall?! Is this why we are designing malls this way? Is it a safety issue?
It's just annoying to have to get in my car and load up my kids from anthropologie to the Apple store I could literally walk there if poplar and parking lots weren't in the...
Read moreWe took our two little girls and the rest of our family to Saddle Creek Mall with us shopping. But much to our surprise, they had Santa, a mini-train ride, food trucks, an unbelievable outdoor bathroom and the outdoor movie screen showing “The Polar Express”. What a fantastic night and a great way to get the entire family into the Christmas spirit in this post Covid crazy world. What a perfect night for an outdoor movie and train ride while we were busy shopping - very well done. The shopping was great without having to suffer the masks and the Santa was magical. My little girls put on the Polar Express as soon as we got home, and my teen was still dreaming of the video kid working the movie screen. Merry...
