Bayshore has gone through MANY transformations since i was a child. They've added new construction, torn it down just to add something different, and some stores move in and out in a blink of an eye. They added apartments when it was originally remodeled over a decade ago, and just recently added more apartments on the east side of the mall.
My most favorite part of Bayshore, is their current food selection. Just a year or two ago, there wasn't much of a selection, but over the past couple years, more restaurants have moved in and STAYED, which makes me happy. Oh, and if you want some of the most amazing deals around, make sure you checkout Kohl's at the end of each season: they have most of their seasonal items at massive discounts. I got these Koolaburra coats, made by UGG, for less than $20, last year!
What i like least about the mall, would be the number of thefts that happen EVERY day, more specifically at Target and Kohls. These thieves have caused the prices for honest citizens who are already struggling to make ends meet, struggle more because of these peoples selfishness.
I can't say the security makes me feel safer either, as I'll often see them just sitting in their patrol cars, on their phone. I've even seen a particular "guard", throwing his trash outside his car door, on more than one occasion. I don't think I trust someone to "protect", when they can't even follow one of the most basic and simple laws, showing no concern for the environment or those who need to clean up HIS mes. There's also been drug deals, car thefts, and drug use, on the mall grounds (each one which I've witnessed on at least one occasion). Not to mention murder. But of course, this is the extreme.
Overall, I feel mostly comfortable going there. Just make sure to keep your guard up and eyes peeled for any illegal activity and don't call for security if you have any concerns, call the Glendale police department. I've been going to Bayshore my entire life, so I've seen it's transformations throughout, and I can say that despite anything i wrote in this review, it's still one of the better places around to...
Read moreBayshore has a problem and I'm not quite sure what it is.
When this outdoor mall first opened, it was very well attended. So much so that it was often difficult to just walk around and browse for all of the foot traffic all over the place. There were plenty of high end merchants, as well as the regular mall-fare, but it was bustling. There was always something going on.
These days, it's hard to walk a few feet without seeing an empty storefront.
With the Sears anchor closing several years ago (and only recently demolished) you can't help but feel this mall is failing a lot faster and a lot harder than others.
If you walk around Mayfair or Brookfield Square, you can see some empty stores and locations, but they feel like they're still trying. Bayshore feels more like it's given up.
Even with all of these stores closing, parking is still a nightmare, and it's still a pain in the butt to encounter mall "security". A special mention needs to be made about these "officers".
I've worked in malls before, I've shopped in malls for years. Never have I see security officers take such DELIGHT in their petty authority and BULLY young men and women constantly.
There are still some interesting "high-end" stores here, but I wonder how long it will be before we see those pull up and leave as well.
Interestingly enough, I've just learned that the iPic Movie theater and restaurant are closing this week. Just another indicator of what's...
Read moreBayshore has gone downhill. It's gonna be another Northridge soon. In 2020 when they were allowing all the riots, looters, vandals, and the idiots dolid t want police presence and people did whatever they wanted and weren't penalized, a group of people were trying to burn down Bayshore. They threw bricks through windows, looted etc. Prior to that and since then, people steal from stores routinely and there's not much that stores can do about it, so they say. As a result of this and lock downs etc the last of the good stores left. Banana, also, express, Victoria's secret. They are all gone. They can't fill the vacant stores and there are so many of them and the stores they have filled are crap. They have some gross snack places, fluid art, a tea place but literally no good stores left. They can't keep restaurants and the only half decent restaurant is the cheesecake factory. No more fine dining. Mallards is gross. California Pizza kitchen is gross and there's no service there. Bw3 is gone. It's really a shame and a disgrace to the community. And they painted the building so it looks tacky like graffiti. The target there is ok. Not my favorite one. Bath and body is ok. Kohl's with Sephora, Ulta, h& m, loft are all ok. But this place needs a full...
