Ladies and gentlemen, it's DAD and let me tell you about my recent visit to Unity Park in Greenville, South Carolina. This park is a true masterpiece, and I cannot recommend it enough to anyone looking for a fun day out with the family.
First off, let's talk about the slides. These are not your ordinary playground slides. No sir, these are big, fast, and thrilling. My adrenaline was pumping as I zoomed down them, and I know my own kids had an absolute blast. The slides are well-maintained and safe, so parents can rest easy while their little ones have the time of their lives.
But the fun doesn't stop there. The jungle gym at Unity Park is a sight to behold. There are tons of different structures to climb on, crawl through, and explore. It's like a mini obstacle course, and I definitely got a workout in while supervising my kids. The jungle gym is perfect for children of all ages, and it's sure to keep them entertained for hours.
When it was time for a break, we headed over to the picnic area. There are plenty of tables and benches to sit at, and the park provides grills if you want to cook up some burgers or hot dogs. We brought our own food and had a lovely picnic in the shade. The atmosphere at Unity Park is so relaxing and peaceful, it's hard to believe we were only a few minutes away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Greenville.
But Unity Park is more than just a playground and picnic area. The park is filled with beautiful artwork, gardens, and water features that truly make it a work of art. The park is also home to a stunning pedestrian bridge that connects the park to the Swamp Rabbit Trail, a popular biking and walking trail in Greenville.
Overall, I was blown away by Unity Park. It's clear that the city of Greenville has poured their heart and soul into creating a park that is not only fun and enjoyable for families, but also a beautiful work of art. If you're in the area, do not miss the chance to visit Unity Park. It's an experience...
Read moreWelcome to Rust Park...or Rustville Doesn't look at all like a $66 million dollar park. Only a small fraction of the massive park has entertainment for kids, the rest is basically grass. The buildings that are in the back are a clinic, business office, and a bar (placed near the kids section where adults can drink and drive their kids off a bridge). A huge opportunity has been missed for a nice mini golf course (nothing too fancy but nothing too basic either). Do something about all the freaking rust! (It's a health and safety hazard). Put up something to shade at least part of the kids area ( a Shade clothe like someone else mentioned..or be different and get creative). There should be another fence outside the kids area next to the road which runs a few feet near the kids area. Always have security! I've stayed at the shelter nearby and I can't stress enough how important security is for this park, the school on the corner, and this area in general because of the insanity that comes along with a shelter (an important part of the community but also a danger). Be safe everyone [Update: compare this to North Charleston $20 mil project..."new community building featuring a theater and meeting rooms, the largest inclusive playground in the southeast, an inclusive baseball field, a performance/event space, a garden, a green space, and...

Best described as a wide open green space, located close to downtown Greenville ( 20 min ish walk). There is a great kids playground, that has sections for little kids as well as small children and toddlers and includes a splash pad during the warmer months. The playground area seems to be built on top of large hills covered in fake grass, which is great for sliding down. The rest of the park is pretty massive and includes a walking track, picnic tables, multiple parking areas, and I believe some basketball courts.
Nearby are a few shops, restaurants and the occasional food truck.
The park is also identified by the giant multicolored letters spelling out 'Unity' which are fun to look at and take pictures by. It's also nice to be reminded of the idea of Unity and coming together as a community.
My only critique is that it would be great to have a bit more shade. The lack of trees is definitely missed during the hotter months, but outside of that it's a great park that I enjoy...
