My wife and I stayed at the Homewood Suites in Downtown Greenville on 03/28 - 03/30. I have severe ADHD and when I travel I take my Steam Deck portable gaming computer system with me to help with my ADHD. This past week we were preparing to travel again and I couldn't find it in our luggage. I only use it while traveling, hence the delayed realization of the missing item. Once I realized that it was missing I logged into my account for the gaming system and it stated that it was logged into on 4/02 at 6:40 pm in Greenville. This was three days after we had checked out and left Greenville. I never took it out of the room during our stay and the hotel was our only destination in Greenville, we left home and drove to the hotel and left the hotel and drove back home. Once I realized that it was missing I called the hotel and the desk staff informed me that nothing was registered to lost and found from our room for our stay. I called again this morning to speak to a manager and was transfered to the assistant manager Kenny, he informed me that there was nothing in the lost and found and beyond that there was nothing they could do. So one of two things has happened, either the housekeeping didn't clean the room well enough to find a 14' x 10' x 6' hard black case and the next guest found it and took it or housekeeping found it and did not turn it in. This portable computer along with the other items in the case has a combined value of well over $700. In either case this really makes me not want to stay at a Hilton property ever again because housekeeping either doesn't clean the rooms very well at all or they are untrustworthy and keep left behind items regardless of value.
Update: I have already filed a police report and the manufacturer of the device has stated that they will be assisting the police with IP information to assist with potential tracking, they have already discovered that the language on the device was changed to Spanish on April 2, 2025 (Its possible that this was changed in an attempt to locate contact info on the device). I am hoping that it was simply misplaced by an employee after they found it in my room and that it will...
Read moreThe location of the hotel is great. The parking is nice. The building is great. The worst issue it the excessive amount of dogs. I can appreciate pets and dogs, but as someone with allergies, I am sick every time I stay at a Hilton Brand hotel. There are dogs in the lobby, lots of them. There are dogs at breakfast and in the eating areas. I was told by staff that dogs, large, small, fat, tall can be in any and every room. As a Hilton member for 20 years, I am to the point of not being able to stay at Hilton Brand hotels. The dog issue would be better if some rooms were dog-only rooms and some floors were pet-only floors. As someone with severe allergies, we should not have to stay in a room where large dogs had stayed. I am sick for a week after staying at a Hilton brand hotel.||||Second issue, was the rotating staff at breakfast. Every other day, the staff was nice. The opposite days, watch out. One day they ran out of milk and the lady bit the head off the man who asked to please get some more. Another man asked for coffee and she did the same to him. He slunk off and said..."I guess I will just have decaf..."||||Final issue, there seemed to be a large number of people staying at this location who were under some sort of state or federal subsidized program that were there staying there while having work done on their homes. While that is all well and good, these individuals tended to hoard large amounts of food at any time food was offered... one lady took five bananas, another had multiple bowls of items covered with napkins to take away... day after day after day. If you are interested in a fresh banana, you had to go into full assault mode to be able to get it before she took a handful... while we are all in this together, it is challenging when most guests are paying full price for a nice...
Read moreI have worked in the hospitality industry for several years, I travel a lot, and I am a gold member for both Hilton and Marriott. Although the property is nice, I did not feel welcomed at all. I assume its because as Hilton employee I was paying a discounted fare, but for whatever reason I was not treated well at all with the exception on Ruby and Guy. Guy is amazing! There were times I tried to discuss my issues with management, and they would NEVER follow up with me, part of me feels as though them NOT having one African American on management staff contributed to such disrespect and lack of care. There was one time a house keeper opened the door to my room TWO HOURS BEFORE check out, I called and spoke to management, I was given a speech BUT NOTHING WAS DONE, no additional points, free night, not even offering a bag of potato chips. The final straw was when there was confusion over a day that I cancelled, THREE front desk workers were told to hound me over a $39.20 balance that wasn't my fault! One of the employees even said out loud "management plans to take away your employee travel benefits," while in front of guest! Not only did I email management I called the next morning and again NOTHING WAS DONE!!!! Later that day I was told to remove my stuff from the property and change my upcoming reservation to the regular none employee rate or I wasn't going to be allowed to stay! I am using every avenue I can to make sure people know that this property does not treat everyone fair! In my many year in the industry I have NEVER had anyone threaten to take away my privileges nor have I ever experienced such disrespect! I encourage employees and African Americans to be prepared to be treated...
