Yes, the production was good. However, customer service was horrible; actually let me rephrase that, customer service for my boy friend and I was horrible. Immediately when we entered the building, I knew our night inside that building was going to be a bad experience, and initially it was all the stares from many of the customers there; maybe it was because we were a little younger then the average person there 24 &28 or maybe because we were the ONLY colored people there (or rather my boy friend-who is black) either way that wasn't our problem. People have the right to look at or think whatever they want. It wasn't a real problem until we had our encounters with the employees there. Not just once were we overlooked or quickly dismissed but 3 times (which were all our encounters). First encounter: scanning in our tickets; there was a group of people in front of us and the ticket scanner nicely showed them which direction they should go to quickly get to their seats. So of course I was glad to see that since this was our first time there and I had no idea which way we should go. So when we were next the older man with no eye contact or smile quickly scanned our tickets and moved on to those behind us, but of course I didn't know where to go so I nicely asked him where? In which he quickly gave me an answer of "go the right and you should find your seats somewhere over there". Thankfully our common sense lead the way. Second encounter, meeting the greeters with the program pamphlets: the older man and lady were graciously giving programs to the people in front of us. However when we stepped by no pamphlet was given to us and quickly to avoid the awkwardness of the older man who clearly did not care who we were, I asked the lady if she could quickly just point to the direction to get to our seats the quickest (the place was small I didn't really have to ask but it was my first time there and I was already bothered by the reactions my bf was getting) she kindly pointed the way and she then realized we never got programs. So we waited on the sideline as she asked the elderly man for a program but he ignored her and so instead she reached behind a couple of chairs where other programs were and gave us just one--to me, not to my bf who she never acknowledged at all and every one was getting a program not just one per group. Third encounter, leaving the theater: elderly man with the programs was doing a great job wishing people a good evening until of course we passed by and no acknowledgment was made. I -not my bf --bought the tickets online so who knows how that would have gone.
And one last encounter that took place there that night worth mentioning which did not have to do with the staff(I mention it so people can really see that racism in the south still exists it's not just some grudge African-Americans have. It still exists and depending on the area it is in higher doses then others, and it's truly disgusting.) So when we sat in our seats--I lead the way, 4 elderly people stood right next to my boy friend and just stared at him while we were seated. I thought maybe they were trying to get thru so I made some Room. But they weren't passing by us they just stared and said NOTHING for literally 5 sec which is a long time honestly. So I was like well maybe I sat us in the wrong seats, looked at my tickets and yep I sat us in the wrong seats. So I nicely said "oh we're sorry I thought these were our seats but I was wrong", but they did not say one word to us and no expression. It was as though we were invisible. Needless to say I hope colored people bombard this theater and enjoy a pretty good production and make all the racists...
Read moreWent here for legally blonde. The play was very entertaining, very well acted. That being said when I purchased the tickets I was told that every seat in the house was an excellent seat. We were on the left side, C1 and C3. Yes, definitely a good view, except for the fact that they play only to the front of the stage. Because they only really play to those who are sitting directly in front of the stage, the full experience is missed. Don’t believe that every house in the seat is an excellent seat. It’s just not true. There is really no reason why they couldn’t, from time to time, during the play, face either of the right or the left side side of the stage, but they don’t. So it kind of makes you feel like you’re the second rate audience. Then there was the bar experience. 4 ounces of wine for $10. Really? I felt totally ripped off. Here is a picture of the amount of wine that was poured in the same plastic glass that I have at home. It was literally filled only halfway up and when I measured it at home, it was 4 ounces of wine for $10. Totally unacceptable! Needless to say, I will not be returning here for...
Read moreI purchased tickets for me and my two best friends for our birthdays a few months back. We went to see Legally Blonde. The show seemed to be great. We were on the front row but couldn’t hear anything because of the two girls behind us. They had a child with them and she was the one acting like an adult. The two adult ladies were wasted and were talking so loud that’s all we could hear. They were discussing people on Facebook. They were clearly friends of someone in the show. I politely asked if there was anyway they could tone it down so we could enjoy the show? They said sure, then busted out laughing. They then got louder. When the show took a break we went on home. It was such a disappointment. My friends drove all the way from Gaffney SC. I was so embarrassed that I had talked this place up. I wish they would’ve had people walk through and check for issues like this. I’m sure the show was awesome and disappointed it was...
