Man I tried to handle this via email, but you guys just reassured me you don't care. 11/26 I've waited to send this email for about a week, however I can't stop thinking of the experience I had at the Hagerstown location on 11/26. Ive never purchased anything here prior and likely won't return either. I came to purchase Xmas gifts for kids, a Switch Lite and a GameCube. I should've left after the conversation with you're employee and the couple in front of me trying to purchase Pokémon cards. They where confused with the promotion, and thought they would get a better deal differently. The repped I'll just return everything and you can pay full price"is that what you wanna do " . They just asked for the cards and left. On to my story I first asked for the Blue Switch he asked which Blue Switch I wanted, again I said the dark blue one. He asked again if want the turquoise or blue. If I wanted turquoise I would've said that, I had to point to point to the one I wanted. GameCube was next I asked if they are tested before they sell them( again never been to a retro shop) he told me no they don't. I said really and he said they yea they check them. Asked where the GameCube games are he just pointed to a shelf tell me over there. I'm trying to spend money at the shop, I don't seem them and have to walk back over and asked him to please show me. Nothing but attitude the entire time, look I get people half days but he he really didn't want to be there. I go to pay so I can leave he asks me about a reward program if I have it I said no the rep says I'll just add it. Sounds great, no explanation of what it does. I have to ask another rep what it covers after he leaves. After I pay I'm told it's not an OEM controller which is what is pictured in the add next to the GameCube. Nothing was said until after the fact. The entire process was terrible, you guys are leaving money on the table with an employee like that. He needs training and good coaching. I went to the Frederick location the next day to make a purchase on a few games. The staff was great, explained some questions I had on game promotions and cards. I shouldn't have to drive forty minutes away for...
Read moreBeen going here for around 10 years or so and tbh if this review was on the store 8 months ago I would give it about a 2, employees used to use dab pens openly in the shop which besides compromising anyone with lung issues it’s just unprofessional but now there isn’t any of that, the store is pretty well kept and the staff is as knowledgeable as they can be considering they sell just about every system. However they are a business, I had an issue with a game I bought which had a disc that crazy enough wasn’t the game I bought. After the staff took full responsibility for it, they doubled down on their policy of no “cash refunds” I fully understand that’s a company policy and many third party stores have that policy and I understand(not respect) that and have no ill will to the employees. If I hadn’t wanted to wait for them to find an alternative copy, I would have had to argue over the return of my purchase as I was sold something that I had not bought. The legal ramifications were evident the entire time however again I just wanted the game but if a customer had not wanted to wait, the company would have tried to refuse a refund which is not just absurd but pretty shady. The company or business cartridges galore is about a 2.5 but the employees are a 10 out of 5 stores. And I can’t stress that enough that the employees make this store great, and be weary as like any business they care about profit, you’re satisfaction brings profit until it doesn’t,...
Read moreWill start by saying the store has a great stock and I had a lot of fun looking around at everything. They will more than likely have what you are looking for when it comes to video games. Now, I was there at 1:30 on Thursday and the Dude working could not have done much more to discourage me from wanting to buy something. Completely unenthusiastic when I brought up an old school game I played. The guy didn’t even reply. I handed him some Pokémon cards to appraise and he gave me a fair price. Then the guy straight up told me my cards were “worthless”. Dude, it’s a hobby all cards in a collection have value to someone and it doesn’t have to be monetary. Another customer was asking for a specific game. The best answer he could give was a sarcastic “uhh we have a lot of games here” and point to the shelf. The guy just did a very good job at making the whole atmosphere and vibe of the place horrible. The customers were giving each other looks of disbelief in reference to this dude. Even when we left the store other customers were asking what that guys deal was. He had a horrible attitude that made other customers and myself walk out even though we were wanting to buy something. Going to be awhile before I go back. Game store should be full of positive vibes and a great place to be nerdy. This guy...
