Great deals, classic huge souvenir shop.... TERRIBLE staff!! My two kids (5 & 11), my elderly mom with a cane, and I went there as a last stop to a fantastic night at the boardwalk. We were excited to find one of the old fashioned huge gift shops! Right away we were confronted about my 11 year old having a drink. Ok - totally fair! She was done anyway and we just had her go outside to throw it away. We grabbed a wheeled basket and started picking out our stuff. A couple minutes later, they came up again - sorry, our card machine is having trouble, we can only accept cash.... ok! We had plenty of cash so we said that was fine (after checking in front of her!!) And went a out our shopping... We were followed EVERYWHERE! We could not get 5 feet away, nor go to the other side of a clothing rack without the lady following us! Mind you, other patrons were in the store, and no one else was being so blatenly followed (if at all)! After putting up with it (because we liked their stuff!) We were almost finished when she came up and said they were closing in 10 minutes (I had no idea what time it was, but later found out they didn't close for nearly an HOUR after that!!). While my mom was checking out, I went to let the girls play the one crane machine which was not out of order, and she stopped us, saying it was... After paying, I finally expressed how upset I was about being followed so blatenly, and she told me I didn't have any reason to feel insulted!!! Seriously?! We were the only ones followed in the store, and I had a Louis, two kids, and a grandma with a cane.... how far do think I'm going to get!? Follow the the gut smelling like weed instead! I have never felt so insulted nor disrespected in my life! We warned everyone on...
Read moreBEWARE!!! HORRIBLE BUSINESS!! My family went here looking for souvenirs and souvenir clothing because at first appearance it's large and full of items and looked good. PLEASE DO NOT LET THE LOOKS FOOL YOU. A woman told my little daughter and son not to touch the clothing which was off-putting it first. My 6-year-old daughter found a cup that was made for children and we decided to get it for her so she carried the cup around store as we looked around. We ended up picking out quite a few items and as we got back toward the front we realized to cut my daughter was holding was cracked and had a small break at the bottom.
I told the other woman nearby that we found a item that was damaged just to make her aware but then she FLIPPED out on us. She said that we have to purchase the item because my daughter touched it and I told her that my daughter didn't break it or drop it we were just letting her know that at some point someone probably broke it and put it back on the shelf. She yelled at us actually yelled saying that none of us were supposed to touch anything unless we were going to buy it. I said that we will not take someone yelling at us and that we were not going to purchase the items we had picked out and then she started to yell and curse at us!!!
She actually yelled and cursed and then proceeded to call our children horrible names and then followed us out the door as we left continuing to yell and curse! 🤯
I have never experienced a place of business like this and if I could give zero stars I absolutely would and I hope that no one goes here to give their business to these...
Read more(I will start by saying I took this photo from an earlier post I saw because I didn’t take photo while I was in the store, but afterwards while reviewing the reviews I came across this photo which was the woman with whom I had this interaction with.) If I could give this place a “0/5” I would. I am a very calm individual and this woman had me triggered within minutes of entering the store. She has to be one of the rudest “customer service” individuals I have ever come across. I literally “pointed” at a t-shirt with my foot. This woman (who was checking someone out at the time) began YELLING at me from behind the counter. I finally turned around and realized she was talking to me and she screamed to me “are you serious!? Do you not have hands!?” I realized quickly what she was referring to, and quickly responded very calmly that I simply pointed at a shirt on the bottom shelf with my foot, and even said “I promise you my shoe didn’t touch a single thing on that shelf.” She continued to go on and on, and made me and my family extremely uncomfortable. Finally we ended up leaving without buying anything, and she continued to scream at us and even began arguing with one of our children on the way out of the door. Seriously unbelievable! She should not be working in retail, and judging by all of the comments I’ve read before mine, this is not a new way of acting for her. If she is an employee, she needs to be fired. She has no business working with other people, as she has no idea how to speak to another...
