Was looking forward to experiencing this place.....well....other than the pork tacos, there was not much else to praise here. First, the wait for the food was painfully long, in part because of the take out orders taking precident over seated customers. The food was grossly over priced period. I'll stop there as the entire afternoon was blighted by what could have been an enjoyable meal.( One dish missing the meat, the noodles in the soup WAY undercooked, one person's dish arriving 20 minutes after the others...) The owner should focus more on her product and what is being served in house, or just stop serving in house. In my review, I find it not worth the trip again. Please don't confuse this place for anything remotely close to being authentic Vietnamese cuisine. 3/23...I would to respond to your offer of a refund. Thank you, but I would rather hear that you are addressing the issues that your customers are concerned with. It should be about the food and service, I wasn't looking for a free meal.
8/17/2020 It seems as though the owner has "woke" after a year to once again to respond to my initial review.... now it seems her tact is to imply that I was "insulting her culture" because she made bad soup....wow...then she goes on to actually accuse Chinese restaurateurs of using slaves and bad meat....(don't worry, her restaurant doesn't do this...that is why her prices are higher...) then finally, she harpoons the process of an honest review by accusing ME of being cruel. Perhaps she is right. Let's get rid of the Google review platform. Maybe, if more people stood up in her restaurant and shouted at the top of their lungs "THIS FOOD IS POORLY PREPARED AND OVERPRICED AND YOUR SERVICE IS TERRIBLE", she would get the point. Maybe that is what our culture demands now....one weird year after my initial review. I guess I COULD do that now in a public restaurant without fear of someone calling a cop.... I have now lowered my review to one star solely based on the managers, to put it mildly, puzzling response (again, a year after her first response...). My experience, my review, my prerogative. That's the...
Read moreHonestly just lackluster all around...maybe my expectations were too high, but between the unfriendly service (being asked if we wanted water, and a pitcher brought to the table...and when asked about glasses being told we could get those ourselves; waitress clearly confused while taking our order and not trying to clarify), the relatively limited and heavily americanized menu, slow time to have food come even without being that busy (35 minutes for our first spring rolls to show up?), and the prices...this was just way too lackluster. And things went even further downhill after the food showed up - just not that flavorful (smallest serving of nuoc cham/bun cha sauce I've ever been given). Honestly also not sure if costs are that high in Honesdale but charging $17 for a not massive "large" noodle bowl portion with very limited sauce, bony meat...and then 3.65% credit card fees on top of it seems high to me. Maybe I'm asking too much for Honesdale, or maybe I should know better and skip Vietnamese there...
EDIT: Restaurant responded to this review and noted staffing challenges and associated increases labor cost. Certainly that is a challenge - but it’s not an excuse. I visited several other establishments that weekend in the area, and all offered better service and a better overall guest experience than here. Owner also cites an “Asian food shortage” - apparently that’s an issue unique to the Catskills I’m not aware of impacting any other restaurants near me.
Honestly lackluster; take your business elsewhere.

Edit again: The owner/manager below is commenting on and making assumptions about my race and those of my dining companions. You decide if this is the sort of business you want to patronize. (Furthermore, the...
Read moreWanted to treat my mom for Mother’s Day. Told us it would be 30 minutes so when we got there we had to wait outside in the rain. The guy at window told us it would be 2 more minutes, and it ended up being 20 more minutes . When we finally got our food they only gave us half our food, the other half was cold and not what we ordered. Wouldn’t give me my money back and just microwaved it. So an hour and a half after ordering we got our microwaved meal what a lovely Mother’s Day. Would like to add I don’t blame the employee he was the only one there. The owner clearly doesn’t care about their employees. You don’t make one person handle everything that’s asking way too much and disrespectful.
Response: We ordered at 3pm arrived at the restaurant at 3:30pm not 15 minutes later. Rang the buzzer and knocked on the window because it was taking so long. Got our food around 3:55. Ended up coming back because the food was cold we only got half of it and one of the things we got was wrong so ended up finally getting our food a little before 4:30pm. How did the employee know we arrived early ,which we didn’t, if we didn’t ring the buzzer or in any way get his attention? Also you’re saying we arrived 15 minutes early the employee saw that, but at the same time he didn’t see us because he thought we arrived late. The professional thing to do is to say that you were in the wrong and apologize. Not come up with an excuse that I was early, but also late at the same time. Apparently I’m a time traveler or something, but clearly I haven’t perfected it because I can’t even...
