Two of us went in for a quick, lite, late lunch a couple weeks ago. The atmosphere is nice at the bar and small dining room. We were not able to sit in the main dining room. It seems there was a small event. They sometimes block that room off for day or evening events.
I ordered a glass of wine with French onion soup and a small house salad. The cheese on the soup was burned on one half. The bread underneath the cheese didn’t seem toasted or sturdy enough at all - it was so mushy and gluey. The broth tasted bland and like chicken stock instead of beef. The house salad looked good when it came out, but as I was mixing it around, there were slimy, black pieces of spring mix. I couldn’t eat it.
My partner ordered a beer, the calamari which looked anemic, was under fried, and very unappealing. He ate what he could.
Our servers timing was all off. She was very friendly, but we had to ask for water three times. She brought our wine and beer first, forgot my partners second beer, and disappeared for at least 10 minutes when we were ready for the check.
We wound up going to the bar to ask the bartender for our check and asked that the salad be removed from the bill. They told us they could discount the salad. We explained that we couldn’t and didn’t eat it and she then took it off the bill. We were in there for over an hour due to all the wait times for food and drink.
I hear good things about their dinner food and service, but we definitely had the “B team.”
Also, most of the food seemed like it was straight from Sysco. I could do...
Read moreWe went to Bistro 1202 with friends for lunch. We are locals, however have never been there. We walked in and no one greeted us. Finally a gentleman walked out of the back and asked if anyone was helping us. I said no and he told us we could sit wherever we wanted. Shortly after that, someone who was sitting at one of the high top tables with a customer came over with menus and silverware. The menus were placed on one side of the table with the silverware on top of them. The person, who I didn’t know was an employee because of just sitting there when we came in, then just walked away…not a great first impression. Our server came over to take our drinks. I didn’t get her name, but she was very nice and attentive. We then ordered…food was mediocre at best…chicken sandwich was a bit rubbery. The brisket was chopped with a lot of sauce mixed on. The burger was ok, but not much flavor. I have heard great things about this place, I am now thinking people were talking about going there for dinner. We will give it another try at dinner time, but if it is the same again, that will be our...
Read moreIt was our first time here, the hostess suggested we sit in the bar area. There were two loud, seemingly intoxicated gentlemen at the bar area. Our server, Mel was the only good thing about our evening although her visits weren't timely she was friendly and made us laugh. She was mostly serving in the dining room, so I understood how we were an after thought. We bothordered a seasonal Mule and they give you the ginger beer bottle with it. Half my bottle was used in the drink and not even quarter for my husband's. We had two completely different drinks. His was so sour we couldn't drink it and mine tasted like pure ginger. We got the pot stickers which were okay, tasted similar to what I get from Sam's club and heat up in my air fryer. My pasta was drowning in butter, seriously it was like butter soup with penne in it with virtually no flavor. Honestly would have loved to sit in the dining room and really disappointed in the drinks as well as the food. I don't often review but it felt like a huge...
