Wow! This is a 3 story building that covers every inch with awesome activities for children of all ages! I was hesitant when I saw that adults also have to pay, but I am glad I did! Once you start walking you understand that the price is worth it! We when with out 3 years old, stayed there 5 hours and the only reason we left is because they were closing :). They offer food and drinks but the restaurant only accepts cash (really?) but we left to eat and come back, they were totally fine with that. I am recommending this place to everyone I meet, even my friends with kids that are visiting Hawaii for a week, because every child should have the opportunity to visit this incredible place. There are areas for small children, there is a rainforest to plain with water (amazing!) and they provide something to prevent your kid from getting wet. There is a firetruck, fire station, bus, airplane cabin and cockpit, boats and ships, mechanic station, grocery store, science station, tree house, theater (for your kids to create something), music instrument room and many many other activities. The staff is super friendly and are cleaning constantly. I cannot recommend this...
Read moreDisclaimer: I haven't been to this place in many years. My children were a lot smaller and the exhibits have changed and with corona virus, it makes it for a challenging visit.
Their parking lot is the kakaako park parking lot. They have a parking lot to the side of their building, but for whatever reason it's closed off.
If you have children under the age of 10 this place is awesome. There are many things to look at, touch, feel, experience.
Because of coronavirus, the staff work very dilligently to keep everything sanitized and wiped off. There are hand sanitizer stations everywhere throughout the facility. They also have everyone wearing masks and temperature check done, so if you're worried about coronavirus, they seem to be doing their very best to keep everything sanitized.
Though there were some exhibits that were closed, which was disappointing, but what can you do, just enjoy what they do have.
Even though it seems like a place better for younger children, slightly older still have fun, but it's not the "same" as it was when they were small.
Overall a...
Read moreThe Children's Discovery Center in Honolulu is an incredible gem for families looking to spark their children's creativity and curiosity! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a vibrant, colorful environment filled with interactive exhibits that cater to various interests and age groups. My kids were immediately drawn to the imaginative play areas, where they could dress up, play pretend, and explore different roles in a fun, engaging way.
One of the standout features was the outdoor play area, which allowed kids to enjoy the beautiful Hawaiian weather while engaging in physical activities. The exhibits are thoughtfully designed, promoting hands-on learning in science, art, and culture. We particularly enjoyed the water play area, where kids could experiment and cool off at the same time.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, always ready to assist and provide information about the exhibits. Overall, the Children's Discovery Center is a fantastic destination that offers a wonderful blend of education and entertainment. We left with big smiles and plenty...
