I generally think the place is a nice idea with nice shops and restaurants. However, I find the driving/parking situation extremely confusing. I came here for the first time in a very long time today to meet friends for a movie. It was very hard figuring out where to park while navigating traffic and people walking into streets. A roundabout in a busy shopping area? I found a garage, and my friend had parked in the "office garage" right next to the "retail garage" I apparently parked in, and we were literally about 100 feet apart on the first level. I commented that the retail space said it was reserved from 9-6 Monday-Friday but to pay other times. I asked my friend who said that they used to charge but didn't anymore. I was still suspicious but didn't see any instructions anywhere or any machines by the walkway that goes past the gym. VERY DECEPTIVE. The lot was almost completely empty. Do they want our business or what? I understand charging for special occasions or if parking were in short supply, but it was Sunday afternoon and clearly nobody there.
Long story short, the office parking was apparently free on the first floor (my friend didn't get a ticket), but I got a $25 parking ticket -- all for the honor of spending lots of money in their stores and restaurants.
I guess if I have to go there again, I will try to figure out the parking situation. I did see a pay machine after I got the ticket in a not very visible place with no signage pointing to it. They should have some instructions for us newbies so we know what to do and where to go.
I hope I don't have to go back there in a long while. I would prefer to fight traffic at the Galleria or Memorial City Mall where there are lots of people parking, but they don't charge and don't fine its own customers $25 just for the pleasure of shopping. Oh -- and when you go to pay online the LAZ Parking @CityCentre crew uses a website that charges an extra $3 for the convenience of paying your fine -- not sure what that's about. Guess they are taking after Ticket Master.
Very frustrating after having a fairly nice afternoon after a...
Read morePARKING SCAM ALERT!!! I continue to avoid City Center as the parking situation is, simply put, a scam. Parking meters, ambiguous parking areas between neighboring shopping centers and parking garages that are mostly reserved for residents and businesses have created a situation for major abuse of customers and guests. I feel sorry for the retail businesses at City Center as neighboring Town & Country Shopping Center seem to have ample parking for their customers. Not a customer friendly environment. Update to previous: unable to think of a more effective way to deter customers/patrons from your properties than to install parking meters for parking spots directly in frontof shops and restaurants. For me, was just to popping in to make a quick 5 minute merchandise return. Am not sure a private property management company has the authority to do this? If this isn't a scam, I guess I don't know what one is then? If were up to me, I'd outlaw all valet companies as this is also viewed by many like me as a scam. Mostly, due to the fact properties that do business with valet companies are usually leasing the parking spots to said valet companies. Furthermore, most valet companies aren't bonded and insured. Even if they are, they're not responsible for your vehicle is it gets damage by their employees. Or, if...
Read moreLocated off I 10 and beltway 8. This area is for the upper high class experience.
It is a small village inside of itself. Movie theater, high end restraunts, play theater, daycare, high end retail, fitness all available in one spot.
Parking can be somewhat confusing, most parking is paid but there are a few free parking areas if you know where to look.
There is constant visible security . And plenty of lighting.
I would recommend wearing comfortable footwear as you will want to walk to explore and go to you favorite designations.
There is a play park for children in the middle of the village with limited seating.
A great date night location with plenty of romantic lighting at night. With plenty if places to explore.
Inside the village you can feast on your favorite crepes from Paris, or steals from Texas, take in a culinary cooking class, have drinks on the strand, enjoy ice cream from Italy. And if you like take in a movie , or play.
The only reason I am not giving this 5 star rating is that it does get congested. And for those of limited mobility it can be very challenging to get to the restraunt or store of your choosing due to limited...
