Iām only okay with giving one star because the manager was very sweet and professional but as for the employee that goes by Jim or James (he goes by both because canāt even be professional enough to pick one name) is a very rude miserable person. I arrived to the store around 11:45am on Tuesday December 31, 2024. Jim/James was at the customer service counter helping a gentleman. With no other customers or employees in site so I decided to wait patiently behind the gentleman to make my return. Jim looked up at me but never said anything. After about 4 mins another customer walked up with a pack of batteries in her hand. Jim/James looked up at her and said ā hello I will take you at register one just as Iām done helping this gentlemanā then proceeded to give me a funny look and go back to what he was doing. At this point I realized he didnāt want to acknowledge me as a customer so I spoke up. I said excuse me I was here in line first and Iām just trying to make my return so I can get back to work. Jim/James then told me I wasnāt his priority and that the register was his priority. I replied with excuse me? I as your next customer in line am not your priority? He got highly upset and called for his manager saying there was an issue up front. The manager quickly arrived asked what the issue was and I said thereās no issue I just want to make my return but this gentlemen doesnāt want to acknowledge me as the next customer in line. He then starts saying itās corporateās policy and I need to take it up with them. I said I highly doubt corporates policy is to skip a customer in line without acknowledging them or even knowing what they are there for. This highly upset him so he started rambling rude comments and insisting it was corporates policy. The manager told him to stop several times and to help me as she would take care of the customer that he sent to the register. This upset him that he had to help me so he kept telling me I need to take it up with corporate if I didnāt like how I was being treated. I told him no problem I would but that this wasnāt a corporate issue it was him not having good customer service and all he had to do was acknowledge me and let me know he would help with my return after helping the lady but that was too much for him. He then raised his voice saying itās definitely a corporate issue and that I was a problem. The manager told him multiple times to stop he only ignored her and kept going with his rude demeanor and remarks while slamming things around and aggressively poking at the computer screens. Finally the manager told him to switch her spots and that she would help me. As he walked away he said Iām getting grief and I donāt like it while kicking boxes around and slamming things around. So I told him maybe he should look into a different job not in customer service. He then proceeded to the register while talking bad about me to the customers at the register(at this point there was another customer behind the lady with the batteries). Highly offended at this point and shocked by this older manās actions I asked the manager for his name and informed her I would be calling corporate on him. He then walked over to me and slammed a post it note on the counter in front of me with corporates number on it. The manager apologized and was very sweet and helped me with my return which may I add took less then a minute to complete. The employee Jim/James had no respect for me, the other customers in the store, the store itself or the manager. This is completely unacceptable! If one of those boxes or something he was slamming around would of popped back up and hit me I definitely would have sued the company and him! Please watch your cameras and confirm this complaint so you know exactly what kind of person you have employed in your establishment. DO BETTER JIM/JAMES! Nobody deserves to be treated the way...

I knocked, hoping they'd come over so I could explain it was a pre-paid order that I just needed to pick up (for an event starting at 7 AM the next day, it couldn't wait), and received a rude gesture in reply. I was with my husband and 4 year old and with my arm in a sling from surgery, and on my second knock, the "manager" indicated she would call the police- and she did. I'm sure we looked so threatening in our minivan. We received criminal trespass citations from the utterly unhelpful and useless cop, and was told to pick up from another store. Since it was printed at this location, picking it up elsewhere wasn't going to help (nor was I going to waste my time driving because some jerk couldn't manage to do her job properly), even if the event wasn't happening prior to the store's Saturday opening. I have NEVER been treated so appallingly by a store, and given that they were supposed to have been open, this amounts to the theft of my order. Personally, I think the criminal complaint really needs to go the other way. I'll never shop there again, and plan on telling everyone I know how lazy and offensive the staff at Staples can be. I asked her before I purchased the thank you cards, and a giant poster ($90) if they would print them off at the store (extra $100) they said they could. I purchased all the cards, giant poster, and sign to be printer online. I then get an phone call 4 days before my sons 1st birthday stating after i spent $190 that they could not print the invitations. I then went to the store to try to get a refund for partial to find out they lost my jump drive!!!! Worst place I've ever been to. I would recommend Office Depot of another location by far!!
